This year’s theme for Epilepsy Awareness Month is “Share Your Purple Power,” to emphasize the power of patient stories to end the stigma associated with epilepsy.
Nylah found out she had epilepsy when she was a freshman in high school, and the first thing she thought about was how she was going to be a normal kid after the diagnosis. She found that being open and honest with her friends and family was the best way to manage this fear.

Today we want to share Alastair’s story for Blood Cancer Awareness Month.
At sixteen he was diagnosed with leukemia. “My advice for someone being newly diagnosed [would be to] ask your doctor any question you have about the treatment. [It] gave me a bit of comfort knowing what their plan was, knowing it was okay to ask for help.” Luckily, he had an incredible care team that did just that. He was able to stay positive with the knowledge of his treatment plan and how his body would react, and we are honored to give Alastair the platform to share his story.

When Ava was first diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma she struggled to find the motivation to go to treatment. She finally found inspiration through her family to stay positive, and it all paid off when she was able to ring the bell signifying the end of treatment.
Today we wanted to highlight Ava’s amazing resilience for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. She is a great example of someone who never gives up, and lives everyday with the mantra, “Any little thing you do can be counted as a step forward.” Thank you for sharing your story with us Ava!

We strive to make complex medical information relatable, understandable, and accessible to everyone regardless of age, education, or culture. This year, at the 2024 iCAN Summit, we met Muminah, a young woman who was experiencing painful eye complications and searching for answers. She found our VKC comic on YouTube, and was able to successfully diagnose herself through our easy-to-understand content! She also shared with us that the video gave her hope and comfort seeing that she wasn't alone.
Muminah's story embodies everything Jumo Health stands for, and we are so proud that our content helped her to understand her condition. Read the full blog at https://hubs.la/Q02MNndQ0

"It can't just always be adults educating adolescents...adolescents have minds of their own and we need to create these platforms for them to [learn]"
Today is International Youth Day, and this year the IYF wants to honor the incredible impact of young adults finding sustainable solutions by creating digital innovations. We get the opportunity every year to meet young people that are driving this force at the Annual iCAN Summit. They inspire us by advocating to create better health education for others.
At this year's Summit we had the honor of filming some of their stories, and we were blown away by their creativity, passion, and vulnerability. We left the Summit as we do every year – reinvigorated to make clinical research more applicable to everyone, regardless of age, education, or culture.

Oncology clinical trials can be scary, with complex and confusing explanations of treatment therapy, schedules and procedures very commonly overwhelming patients and caregivers. At Jumo Health, we have a team of medical writers, health literacy specialists, therapeutic area experts, designers, and animators that specialize in creating materials to simplify this process.
While we provide solutions across all therapeutic areas, we have extensive experience educating cancer patients. Over the last 15 years we have worked with 25 sponsors on over 75 oncology studies.
