Stroma Physical Therapy

Stroma Physical Therapy We are a full-service Physical Therapy practice. We are devoted to getting our patients better.

We believe that an understanding of the human body and movement provides the basis in assessing and treating our patients. While Evidence Based Medicine guides us in a general direction, it is important to assess the person walking through our door since not everyone is reflective of the statistical "mean". With our strong background in anatomy and biomechanics, we analyze each patient and their i

njury to derive a sound treatment equation. We apply this equation using our ability to palpate tissues effectively and exercise appropriate muscle groups. Through our complete clinical analysis we create the right equation for success, and our hands and unique exercise approach produce the results.

Next up for our physical therapist introductions is Michele! Michele Christian received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 2022. Prior to starting her career in physical therapy, she grew up in northern New Jersey and began dancing from a young age. Throughout her life, she developed a passion for the effect of movement on emotional healing, which later turned into a curiosity for movement’s effect on physical healing. To fulfill her curiosity, Michele attended and graduated from The University of Scranton with her B.S. in Exercise Science, and eventually pursued her studies in physical therapy in Arizona. While in school, she also pursued additional education to provide pelvic floor services into her practice.

Michele’s professional experience includes working in outpatient orthopedic settings in Arizona, where she introduced pelvic floor services to a geriatric population. She is very excited to be able to continue her career with Stroma Physical Therapy to provide valuable one-on-one care with her patients. When Michele is not working, she can be found dancing and choreographing, or enjoying the sun with a run or a hike. Michele is currently accepting new patients at the Upper East Side location!

Our next therapist to introduce is Karine! Karine Grajales, DPT received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Andrews University in 2011. Karine’s athletic background as a dancer and personal trainer is what fueled her to pursue a career that focuses on the recovery process of athletic injuries. Karine combines her passion for dance and fitness with healing. Her interest in physical therapy began, when as a personal trainer, she encountered limitations with her clients who had suffered injuries. She then returned to school in order to be able to not only help her clients achieve their personal fitness goals, but also to help them rehabilitate and stay active during their healing process. Her motto in life is “movement is medicine.”

Karine has worked in various outpatient settings in her career and has treated numerous conditions Including: pre/post operative rehab, repetitive stress injuries, pelvic floor dysfunction, permanent physical disabilities and gait imbalance issues. More than focusing on isolated injuries Karine’s approach to rehabilitation is helping her patients understand their movement patterns and how it affects their injuries. Karine enjoys educating and connecting with her patients and giving each one individualized care. When not working Karine enjoys outdoor cycling, weightlifting and traveling.

Next up for re-introductions is Chelsea-based physical therapist, Jordan!! Dr. Jordan Seda graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University. His first introduction to the power of physical therapy came not as a graduate student, but as a patient. As a three-sport varsity letterman in high school from Lakewood, NJ, Dr. Seda had a history of chronic ankle issues but gained full recovery through the help and compassion of skilled physical therapists. Gaining a deep appreciation for the field of rehabilitation, he went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from Rutgers University. As a student, he also completed a series of outpatient, orthopedic-based internships across the country, which further honed his skills in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular pathologies.

Dr. Seda is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) through the ABPTS, a Certified Clinical Powerlifting Coach (CCPC) and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms). Dr. Seda also completed coursework in visceral mobilization and chronic pain management among other movement-based treatment approaches. When Dr. Seda is not in the clinic, you can find him relaxing with friends and family, powerlifting or practicing capoeira, traveling the globe or trying a new restaurant.

"Life in the Slow Lane: For a better quality of life, we need to slow down, let go, and prioritize calmness so that we can arrive at and maintain good health. At my latest workshop, I challenged everyone to schedule one of two silence events:

- For one week, whenever you are in your car, have silence the entire time. No radio, no podcast, no music.

- For one week have a “Do Nothing” session for 10 minutes. Position yourself comfortably (sitting, lying down, reclining). Do this for 10 minutes, three times, for one week. No music, no sound, no nature sounds, and absolutely no interruptions.

Whenever you or someone that you know would like support with your desire for living your life in good health, please reach out to me. As a health coach, I can help you reach your goals. I offer a free consultation, so click on the link below to begin your journey towards achieving peace and happiness."

Not only does she offer free consultation, she sends out frequent newsletters and puts together workshops for anyone interested in learning more! Check out her website to find out more:
