The eyelid platform also known as lid show or the tarsal platform is one of the most important concepts in eyelid surgery.

Simply put, it’s the distance between the eyelid crease and the eyelashes.

Why does it matter?

Because symmetry of the eyelid platform is often the single biggest factor in how patients perceive their results after surgery. Even small differences can be noticeable, while a well-balanced platform creates a natural, rested appearance.

When planning eyelid surgery, I’m not just thinking about skin removal. I’m evaluating the crease, brow position, volume distribution, and how the eyelid platform will look from corner to corner.

The details matter.

Watch the video to see exactly what the eyelid platform is and why it plays such a critical role in achieving a natural result.

Fall facial rejuvenation planning starts earlier than most people think. After months of summer sun exposure, many patients begin noticing pigmentation, dullness, fine lines, and tired-looking skin. Fall is one of the best times to reset with laser treatments, skin renewal, injectables, or even surgical procedures like blepharoplasty. The key is giving yourself enough time to plan treatments and heal naturally before the holiday season and end-of-year events arrive.

Dr. Robert Schwarcz takes a highly individualized approach to facial rejuvenation, focusing on refreshed, natural-looking results that never appear overdone. Consultations are available in Manhattan and Rye, NY.

A brow lift can beautifully elevate and support the upper face but the brow and upper eyelids should never be treated as separate structures.

When the brow is lifted, more of the upper sulcus becomes visible. If this area is not carefully evaluated, the result can appear hollow, skeletonized, or overly surgical.

In the video, I explain why brow position, upper eyelid anatomy, skin complexity, and volume all matter when planning a brow lift. The goal is not simply lifting the brow higher, but creating a result that still looks natural, allows normal eyelid movement, and avoids tightness or retraction while being mindful of what the upper eyelid increased exposure looks like when performed correctly.

An incredible weekend at The Aesthetic MEET in Boston.

Dr. Robert Schwarcz joined leaders in aesthetic surgery for discussions centered around upper blepharoplasty, brow lifting, and the relationship between the brow and periocular region what he often refers to as the brow-eye continuum.

One of the most valuable parts of meetings like these is the ability to exchange surgical perspectives, challenge techniques, and continue evolving how we approach facial rejuvenation.

Under-eye bags or hollows — what’s really making you look tired?

The truth is, it’s not always about removing fat. The most natural results come from repositioning or restoring it. Modern lower eyelid surgery focuses on balance shifting or adding your own fat to smooth the transition between the eyelid and cheek for eyes that look rested, not altered.

It’s precision over trend, always.

Photos can lie.

A single frame, bad lighting, the wrong angle and suddenly it feels like that’s “how you look.” It’s not.
You’re not a frozen moment. You’re movement, expression, energy. The way your face shifts when you talk, smile, exist… that’s what people actually see.

Don’t let one photo rewrite your self-image. It was just a second, not the full story.

Subtle, but powerful

A refined deep plane facelift and neck lift can restore definition where it matters most along the jawline, under the chin, and through the neck without changing what makes you you.

Notice the difference:
• Smoother neck contour
• Sharper jawline definition
• Softer, more rested appearance

Considering facial rejuvenation? The right approach is always tailored, never one-size-fits-all.

Natural facial rejuvenation trends in 2026 are all about looking refreshed—not “done.”
More patients are stepping away from overfilled, overcorrected results and asking for something quieter, more intentional, and more natural. The goal isn’t to change how you look. It’s to look like yourself on your best day. That’s why today’s approach to facial rejuvenation focuses on thoughtful planning, facial balance, and choosing the right treatment at the right time whether that’s surgical, non-surgical, or a combination of both.

If you’ve ever wondered what modern, natural-looking rejuvenation actually looks like in 2026, we break it all down in our latest blog. Read the full post and learn what patients are really asking for this year. Click the link in bio to get started.

CO2 laser is often the final step that elevates surgical results from excellent to exceptional. By tightening fine lines, smoothing wrinkles, and improving pigmentation, it refines the skin itself not just the structure beneath it. When thoughtfully added to procedures like blepharoplasty or facial rejuvenation, CO2 laser helps the skin better match the precision of the surgery. It’s not about doing more it’s about finishing well.

Upper and lower blepharoplasty with CO2 laser can completely refresh the eye area — without changing your face.

In this before and after, we addressed excess upper eyelid skin and lower eyelid fullness to create a smoother, more awake appearance. A CO2 laser treatment was performed as a finishing touch to improve skin texture and tighten the delicate under-eye area.

While Dr. Schwarcz often incorporates fat transfer to restore lost volume, it wasn’t necessary here. This patient already had beautiful natural volume under the eyes — so the approach focused on refinement rather than addition. The result is brighter, smoother, and still completely natural.

Every surgical plan is individualized. Sometimes it’s about lifting. Sometimes it’s about restoring. And sometimes it’s simply about reshaping what’s already there.

If your eyes are making you look tired, schedule a consultation and let’s talk about what makes sense for you.
