After many delays outside of our control, we are finally taking appointments for our brand new Body Composition Lab, featuring pristine, top-of-the-line DEXA and 3D Body Composition Analysis systems, precision height measurement via ultrasonic stadiometers, 360° progress videos and much more.

For those who don't know, DEXA (also sometimes written as DXA) is the gold standard for measuring body fat percentage, lean mass, visceral and subcutaneous fat distirbution, bone mineral density, and more. Paired with our other technology, we also evaluate posture, body shape, health-related ratios, and other key anthropomorphic measurements.

We are confident in saying that we now offer by far the most holistic and advanced body composition assessments available in NYC, if not nationwide.

In addition, we have expanded our team with PhD-level nutritionists, dietitians, medical weight loss specialists and master trainers. This elite team is ready to help you make sense of your data and rapidly drive profound improvements to get into the best shape of your life.

One of the most impactful services we offer at NYCPL is our 3D Functional Movement Screen. Using the latest markerless motion capture technology, we're able to conduct advanced biomechanical analysis of both single and multi joint movements in a fraction of the time required at a traditional biomechanics lab.

This assessment identifies asymmetries, range of motion limitations, and even compensatory movements to give clients a detailed and actionable report of how their biomechanics are impacting performance.

For any athlete or person engaging in regular exercise, it's critical to first focus on addressing problematic movement patterns and imbalances before adding load, volume, velocity, and skill-based activities. By taking the time to correct fundamental biomechanical impairments, one will increase stability, mobility, strength, and resilience, reducing the risk of future injury and paving the way to faster gains.

At NYC Performance Lab, our mission is to Prolong Peak Performance for our clients. We deliver this by adhering to a simple but powerful framework that we call A4. More than just an approach, A4 is a virtuous cycle that repeats in 12-week blocks.

ASSESS: Progress begins with understanding. In this phase, we measure every aspect of the your physical well-being and performance -- from key benchmarks like VO2 Max and body composition to strength/power output, gait analysis, and a comprehensive biomechanical evaluation using 3D infrared cameras. Lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, mental health, etc) are also considered along with daily data from wearables. At the end of this phase, your detailed profile is established in our proprietary performance management platform.

ANALYZE: Armed with robust data from the ASSESS phase, our interdisciplinary team analyzes the findings. Results are reviewed with you in a "deep dive" consultation session and a 12-week Peak Performance Program is developed based on your desired workout frequency and intensity. This program includes personalized training, nutrition, supplementation, and recovery protocols. Training can be done independently or with the guidance of our elite team (all whom are themselves high-level athletes who practice what they preach). Care will be taken to ensure you are paired with the clinicians best aligned with your goals and preferences.

ADAPT: In this phase, you and your NYCPL support team execute your Peak Performance Program. Even if you are traveling or training on your own, we are available on demand via email, text, and phone to answer questions and keep you on track. Wearable technology and custom app integrations ensure your daily progress is continuously monitored and periodic in-person assessments allow us to evaluate you at the Lab and make any necessary adjustments.

ADVANCE: At the end of each 12 week Peak Performance training block, you come back into the Lab for another complete workup where all the tests in the initial ASSESS phase are repeated and your progress is documented. New goals are established and the A4 cycle repeats as you continue to advance and crush your goals.
