In his career, Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology, having worked with the prototype device for about a year in 2003. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians in the United States and around the world on the use of Fraxel for fractional resurfacing than any other physician. Dr. Rokhsar also developed the non surgical nose job in 2003 and published the first scientific article on this subject in 2005. He has performed the procedure live on Good Morning America and the Rachel Ray Show. Dr. Rokhsar is a frequent commentator on topics related to dermatology on various television shows and news segments including the Today Show, Good Morning America, the Rachel Ray Show, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and Fox News. ThermiTight for Face and Neck Skin Tightening

The ThermiTight procedure uses radio frequency delivered through a probe from inside the skin to heat up the skin to temperatures that allow a three-dimensional lift or contraction. Laser Treatment of Moles or Nevi

Even though shave removal and surgical excision remain my preferred methods for removing most moles or nevi, these two methods may not be the optimal procedure for some patients. In this case, this patient had numerous moles or nevi on the right cheek which were ill-defined, lacking clear borders, and located in a cosmetically sensitive area which could result in bad scars. We chose to use the 2mm beam of the CO2 laser to flatten his moles and make them look less noticeable. It only took one session to achieve this outcome.

Laser Treatment of Venous Lakes

Venous lakes are common growths on the lips of many patients who have gotten too much sun in their lifetimes. These lesions can easily be treated with vascular lasers, such as the Vbeam laser. In this particular case, however, this patient had failed two treatments with the Vbeam laser, so we chose to employ a deeper-penetrating vascular laser, namely the long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser or GentleYag Pro. We were able to successfully eradicate the lesion with one session of this second laser.

There’s still time to get your legs ready for the summer and for bathing suit season. For those who wish to improve the veiny appearance of their legs, I prefer sclerotherapy for larger red, purple, green, or blue veins over lasers as it’s just more effective. The injections are fairly painless since we use Asclera, which does not burn like hypertonic saline. More than one session may be needed to achieve optimal results.
