Dr. Rokhsar is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and attended medical school at The New York University School of Medicine where he received his doctorate of medicine. After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Rokhsar received fellowship training in cosmetic, laser and dermatologic surgery in San Diego, California. In his career, Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology, having worked with the prototype device for about a year in 2003. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians in the United States and around the world on the use of Fraxel for fractional resurfacing than any other physician. Dr. Rokhsar also developed the non surgical nose job in 2003 and published the first scientific article on this subject in 2005. He has performed the procedure live on Good Morning America and the Rachel Ray Show. Dr. Rokhsar is a frequent commentator on topics related to dermatology on various television shows and news segments including the Today Show, Good Morning America, the Rachel Ray Show, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and Fox News. Non-Surgical Lower Eyelid Rejuvenation with Fillers

A very simple way to improve the appearance of the lower eyelids—including issues such as dark circles, hollowness, and fat pads—is to use fillers in the lower eyelids and upper cheeks. In this patient, I used fillers in his lower eyelids and lateral cheeks to rejuvenate the area. You can see that his dark circles look much better and his hollowness has improved, giving him a more rested appearance.

Easiest Way to Fix a Nose Bump

The most common complaint that patients seek to fix non-surgically is a nose bump or nasal hump. Surgically, the bump has to be shaved down or broken as it’s either extra bone or cartilage. Non-surgically, we can camouflage the bump with precise placement of filler above or below it. Best Combination Treatment For Acne Scars

Severe acne scars, or rolling scars, often benefit from a combination treatment with subcision and Fraxel laser. Subcision is a procedure in which I release the puckering effect of severe acne or rolling scars from the inside out by inserting a special cannula to cut through the fibrous bands that tether the skin to the underlying tissue. I then use the Fraxel laser to remodel the skin from above.
Typically, patients require 1–3 sessions of subcision in conjunction with 3–5 sessions of Fraxel laser treatment.

Subcision For Depressed Surgical Scars

Sometimes scars, both surgical and from acne, can become bound down or depressed. An effective method to free the scar from the underlying tissue is a procedure called subcision. With this procedure, I insert a cannula or a special needle to break up the adhesions that are tethering the scar to the underlying tissue, which creates the depression and crevices. In this video, you can see me performing it on a surgical scar.

Best Non-Surgical Treatment for Forehead Lipomas

Lipomas are a common fatty growth which can be found anywhere on the body including the face. The traditional treatment for a lipoma is surgical excision, which leaves a linear scar. I have developed an alternative treatment to remove lipomas without surgery, meaning no scars. I inject Kybella, an FDA-approved drug for treatment of neck fat. I use this drug off-label to inject lipomas to shrink and flatten them. This patient had his forehead lipomas injected once and resulted in complete flattening of the lipoma seen 2 months after treatment.
