Our mission in the United States is to proclaim the GOSPEL of LOVE through:
Education
We build schools to provide education to buttress the existing educational structures in Liberia by establishing quality Christian-based academic and vocational institutions. Our school - Community of Hope Academy is located in Goezohn Town, Rivercess County. It is a 10 classrooms with 2 offices project under construction. The school currently serves students from eleven neighboring villages who have to walk one way to school as follows: Neekai Town - one hour, Gbarsleh Town - onehour, Goah Town - two hours, Gborgarwranee Town - three hours 30 mins, Nondyu Vah Town -three hours 25 mins, Zeekai Town - three hours, Bethel Town - two hours, Johnvah town - two hours, and Zaly town - two hours. The remaining two villages Sayon Town and Doedain Town are 5 and 6 hours away respectively which makes it almost impossible for the students to trek from these two villages to school on a daily basis. As a result these students live with teachers during the week and return home to their parents every weekend. There is only one main inter county car road in the area on which commercial vehicles ply once or twice a day. There is need for a van to help the students get to school, especially during the rainy season. We train teachers and provide in service teacher-training to upgrade existing teachers.
Faith-based Service
ACOH also provides in-service training in academic and religious/Biblical teachings for school teachers and pastors; engages in planting and maintaining healthy churches; engages in public education and awareness via radio broadcasting and social media. We plant and maintain healthy churches.
Health & Sanitation
We promote health & wellness of โat-riskโ people, including those who are physically challenged, or who have other special needs through educational programs and community involvement. We assist with safe-drinking water by building and rehabilitating hand pump wells. We also provide medical assistance to vulnerable individuals or family that has no financial means to pay for his/her or their medical expenses. We promote proper sanitation techniques.
