Happy new year! If you are making New Years resolutions, consider goals that are realistic and can be maintained throughout the year. Use the SMART approach when setting a goal- specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely.

Find a workout you enjoy! There is no "best" workout for getting in shape. The best workout is one that you actually want to do on a regular basis! Find one that works for you and stick with it! And when you get bored, try something new - like a boxing or dancing class, pilates or yoga, or a new sport!

Many people mistake thirst for hunger. They think they are hungry when really they need water. Try to get about 64 ounces a day (although the exact amount varies per person). Water will also help to fill you up so you may not need as many calories.

If current trends continue, more than half of today's kids and teens will be obese adults, a new study projects. Most at risk: those obese as kids.

Start Small: Get more vegetables in your diet! 87% of Americans don't meet the recommended servings of vegetables. Try to get 3-5 servings of vegetables each day. Add spinach to your morning smoothie, sauteed mushrooms to your morning eggs, add another vegetable in your lunch salad, or a side salad to your lunch sandwich, and add a simply roasted vegetable to your dinner plate.
