Keep health in mind as you barbeque!
Barbeques are enjoyable in the summer months. Keeping a few tips in mind will allow it to be healthful. Watch the proteins, ensure they are completely cooked and don't leave them out of the refrigerator for too long. Use lean protein such as chicken and turkey in place of beef. Choose whole grain buns instead of white buns. Prepare some dishes that include fruit and vegetables. Indulge with dessert in moderation. Remember you want to enjoy the food. Eating in excess will prevent you from the enjoyment.

Healthy cafeteria lunches are possible! Sometimes you just need to know which items to choose. Lunch should include a balance of nutritious foods such as lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Opt for grilled chicken or fish instead of fried options, whole grain bread or wraps over white bread, and plenty of colorful veggies. Be conscious of the amount of dressing and condiments you use as they can be a source of excess calories and sugar. Don't forget to hydrate with water or unsweetened beverages to stay refreshed. Making smart choices at lunchtime can set you up for success and keep you feeling satisfied until your next meal.
