Mount Sinai Jaffe Food Allergy Institute

Mount Sinai Jaffe Food Allergy Institute The Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai provides comprehensive treatment for food allergies We Are Pioneers and Leaders in the Field.

Many of the diagnostic tools and treatments routinely used to care for allergic disorders today have been developed or refined by physicians at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. Every day of the year, the observations we make while treating children with allergies shape questions that then are tested through our research. The outcomes from this research then guide the care we provide to individual p

atients. The result is that our patients receive tomorrow’s medicine today. In addition, through publication of our findings in peer-reviewed medical journals, we are able to share our research with physicians worldwide.

WE HELD AN AMAZING FOOD ALLERGY TEACHING DAY PROGRAM! For over a decade , we have welcomed allergists, pediatricians, nurses, allergy trainees, and other health care providers who come from near and far to attend our annual teaching day. Our wonderful faculty provide a detailed, cutting-edge curriculum for attendees. This year’s program “Advances in Pediatric Food Allergy: From Science to Practice” was a huge success. We thank our faculty Drs. Oriel (who organized the program), Tsuang, Wang (pictured), Baker, Ramsey, Welch, Kattan, Sicherer, Cox, and Marion Groetch, MS, RD, and Ali Doppelt, RN for sharing their expertise. By educating others, we proudly provide a means to improve care for those living with food allergies.

More information covering our recent study about treating children with "high threshold" peanut allergy, highlighting one of the families involved in the study. The allergy community and researchers are grateful for the children and families who heroically participate in these time-consuming studies and are the pioneers who allow for everyone to benefit from new treatments and approaches.

A study in New York City found some kids with peanut allergies may overcome it by eating peanut butter under medical supervision.
