based clinical experience is crucial to securing a United States Residency training position. If you wish to train at a U.S. based, ACGME accredited institution, you should begin your preparation by learning more about the rigors and challenges of medicine in the U.S. The only way to do that is by rotations and observerships in U.S. based clinical sites, where preceptors can help you adjust to the differences that residency program directors will expect you to be able to navigate. Clinical Experiences, we offer Foreign Medical Graduates the opportunity to learn in NYC-based clinical rotations for competitive rates. Besides the invaluable experience that comes with our clinical rotations in the U.S., we provide proper mentorship to our students to help them maximize their potential. The physicians that started Brooklyn USCE have been through the rigors of being Foreign Medical Graduates themselves, and have started this program to help give back and to help pave the way for further generations of FMG’s to thrive in American medicine.

It’s not easy getting H-1B Visas for Residency anymore... That’s why most of you will mostly get in using J-1 Visa 🇺🇸🥼⁣

The widespread news about $100,000 fees for H-1B Visa mostly applies to tech companies, large organisations, etc. 💸⁣

However America has a HIGH DEMAND for doctors, which is why most hospitals may be exempt from these fees! 🏥⁣

And luckily for us, even if hospitals don’t have H-1B, they can always call you on J-1 Visa! 😎⁣

So stop worrying about your Visa, and start working on your USMLE scores, US Clinical Rotations, Research, CV, etc. 💯⁣

Few years after finishing my fellowship under my mentor Dr. William Solomon, I started Brooklyn Cancer Care 🏥⁣

Later at a Brooklyn Oncology Conference, I met Dr. Solomon, as he was giving a lecture. Before he started his lecture, he said this to me:⁣

“Ratesh, you are the only fellow who did better than me. I’m so proud of you. I’ve trained more than 100 fellows, and you did the best out of all of them.” 🥹⁣

Hearing those words from my mentor brought tears to my eyes (just a few tears 🫣). But that was one of my proudest moments in life 💯⁣

Hard work pays off. Mentorship matters. And surpassing your mentor’s expectations? That’s the ultimate success 🔥⁣

What’s your proudest moment so far? Tell us 👇⁣

A student just got scammed - paid for a rotation that didn’t exist when they arrived! 😵🥼⁣

This happens way more than you think, and that is why you need to find people that you can TRUST! 💯⁣

New companies pop up, take your money for rotations or housing, and when you arrive... nothing exists, sometimes even the building doesn’t exist! 😬💸⁣

How to avoid this? Work with ESTABLISHED companies by trusted doctors. Check their track record, their qualifications, and only then book your rotations and housing ✅⁣

Have you or someone you know been scammed like this? Tell your story in the comments so you can help others avoid such scams👇⁣

As an IMG, you need to be aware that American medical students will get priority in America. Which is why as IMGs, you should be dreaming about going to Ivy League programs like Harvard, Yale, etc. but your first step should be to step into this system, no matter which Program that is in 🇺🇸🥼⁣

The mistake most IMGs make is signaling only their dream programs. You’re just wasting your signals! 🤷‍♂⁣

Our students get interviews because they know the difference between DREAMS and GOALS. The strategy we recommend is to GET THE JOB first, anywhere, and later on look into your dream program 💯⁣

Be strategic. Get in first, then go for your dream🔥⁣

Keep following for real talk on your residency journey 🇺🇸⁣

From that time to today as a doctor in America, I have always followed one rule, and you should too - Whatever job you’re doing right now, whether it’s cleaning, delivering food, or anything else, do your best work and NEVER feel ashamed of it 💪⁣

These are just stepping stones to a much greater destiny that’s waiting for you since your main aim is probably to become a doctor ✅🥼⁣

What job do you do now? And what’s your dream job? Tell us and bring your words into existence, so you can commit to them 📲💬⁣

If you keep making this mistake, how do you ever expect to Match into Residency? 🥼🇺🇸⁣

Spending all your Gold Signals on top programs is only beneficial if you have achievements that are SO EXCEPTIONAL that you could get National level awards for them. If that’s not the case, you’ll most likely end up WASTING your Signals 💁‍♂️⁣

So if you do want to get into these programs which take hardly any IMGs, you first need to get into the US Healthcare System. And once you’re well settled here, then try to enter these Programs! 🏥⁣

Paying someone to add your name to their Research is so 2024... because in 2025 AAMC has changed the rules of the game💯🇺🇸⁣

Now Programs require you to do researches properly instead of just adding meaningless garbage to your CV to increase the number of researches 💁‍♂️⁣

This opens up SO MANY opportunities for students who ACTUALLY work hard on their applications, because now they’ll have lesser competition 😎⁣

Here’s the BEST part about residency that nobody talks about - you’ll have enough money AND 4 weeks of PAID vacation 😍💰🏖️⁣

Most residents split it into 2 + 2 weeks, but you could take all 4 weeks and roam around America if your program allows 🗓️🇺🇸⁣

Time off + the financial independence to GO anywhere you want = winning combination 💯⁣

This is why becoming a Resident and a Doctor in the USA is one of the best things you can ever do in your career🥼🏥⁣

Adara already got 10 - 15 interviews this season, and these are the REAL questions programs asked her until now 👩🏻‍⚕👇⁣

✅ What would you be if you weren’t going to be a doctor?⁣

✅ Tell me about a patient interaction that stuck with you - or one where you made a mistake about biases.⁣

✅ Describe a conflict with an attending or colleague.⁣

✅ What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? How do you relax after a long shift?⁣

Here’s what programs are really testing - can you handle STRESS? Because medicine is stressful, and there’s no escape from that! 🏥⁣

They want to know if you can work under pressure, manage conflict, and still take care of yourself. Your answers reveal how you’ll perform as a resident and later as a doctor in the USA 💯🇺🇸⁣
