That protein bar you’re choking down right now might deserve all the credit for your recent scale wins. However that also might mean you’ll be forever indebted to said protein bar, if you want to keep feeling the victory. And honestly, what kind of victory even is that ?!

Before you go stocking up and spending your hard earned money on diet products, (this includes certain brands of bars, powders, supplements and other food products) just think about the commitment you’re making. It’s a big one and one that may not make you feel so great, or healthy, in the long-run.

There are no short cuts to finding your happiest weight. You must go through the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, before you figure out what’s going to truly be sustainable.

I am not saying that losing weight should be NEARLY important as becoming a more intuitive eater. However, many “Intuitive Eating” proponents believe that weight loss should never be in the equation of IE. In some cases, it seems, they draw the line in the sand and that you have to completely abandon all focus on weight loss in order to truly practice Intuitive Eating. However...as someone who has first-hand experience with people who struggle excessively in both areas (weight and listening to their bodies), I can confidently say it’s possible to combine both outcomes. You don’t have to pick a side!

Many times, in order to fully immerse yourself in Intuitive Eating principles, you’ll need some kind of plan until you get there....like training wheels! I also believe that expecting to only use Intuitive Eating approach is not realistic for everyone. Stress is unavoidable, and unfortunately can affect our ability to consistently listen, and respond properly to our bodies. That said, don’t feel bad if you want to lose weight in a healthy way while practicing IE. AND PLEASE don’t feel like you’re doing something wrong by not worrying about weight and just listening to your body. Just make sure you do work on relationship with food, no matter what you do! ❤️

Made this delish snack over the weekend and wanted to share! It’s honestly not the quickest recipe because of all the ingredients and prep work but it’s totally worth it. Super nutritious and no cooking required.

INGREDIENTS
3 avocados
2 plum tomatoes, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
Optional: 1 jalapeno, stemmed, seeded and diced
4 sprigs cilantro, minced
1/2 c. black beans, canned, drain
1/2 c. corn, frozen, thawed
juice of 1 lime
salt to taste
cotija or shredded mexican cheese for garnish (optional)
DIRECTIONS
1. Rinse the outside of the avocados to prevent any dirt or bacteria from entering the flesh, then halve, pit them and cut a cross hatch pattern in each, making sure not to break the skin.
2. Scoop out the flesh of two halves of an avocado into a medium mixing bowl, then add the tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, black beans and corn and mix well.
3. Cut a lime in half and squeeze the juice over the mixture. This adds a nice flavor and will prevent the avocado from browning. Add salt to taste.
4. Spoon the mixture over each avocado half and crumble the cotija cheese on top.
5. Serve and enjoy!

Avocados 🥑 are an extremely nutrient dense food, full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory fats and fiber. Add in beans, tomatoes, and the rest of the ingredients and it’s truly a nutrient-packed power snack.

Meal prepping 5 days a week, Exercising 6 days a week and avoiding eating out 7 days a week will leave you tired, burnt out and hanging on by a string. How can you possibly sustain that? The way you eat to find your goal weight is the way you’ll have to eat to maintain that goal weight. Thinking that you only need to do this until you see your goal # on the scale is a huge fallacy. Don’t stretch yourself thin, just to be 𝕋ℍ𝕀ℕ. I promise you girl, it’s not worth it!!!! Find a plan that’s worthy of you. 🙏🏻❤️

We often blame or attribute outside circumstances, influences, triggers or distractions for getting in the way of our wellness goals. However, I am here to tell you that this kind of mentality will keep you going in circles! Having sufficient self-awareness is truly the key 🔑 element to discovering what’s holding you back and how to start making changes. If you’re constantly on and off diets your whole life, why are you still doing that? What is your motivation - is it intrinsic or superficial? Are you always feeling unhappy with your body or the way you look? If so, perhaps there is something deeper going on there? If you keep grabbing or seeking out sugary foods that don’t make you feel great, why is that happening? Ask yourself these questions, or else you’ll constantly be back where you started.
