Today ActUP NYC and Students from ActUP Purdue came together in there fight to save the Chelsea STD Clinic on 9th Ave in new York City.
The Clinic has been shuttered for renovations for 2-3 years now.

Chelsea has the highest # of HIV, syphilis and gonorrhea diagnoses of any area in the country! and that's WITH a clinic.

So now's not the time to be reducing sexual health care for the largely LGBT clientele in Chelsea.

The clinic served not only the Chelsea area community, but large number of people from around New York City and even the oter bourghs.

The option that is not really a viable option was to have a temporary clinic opened all the way up by uptown 100th Street.

It would have been easy for the city to have set up a moble medical clinic down in the area using RV type units or even used
one of the many empty city owned propertys in the area.

Some have said these options would cost to much, Wake Up it will cost the city at least 4 to 5 times in health related cost,
because of the closing not to mention the large number of people who will suffer major health issues due to the closings..

They were today to Tell Mayor DeBlasio and City Hall that we won't stand for a CLOSED Chelsea clinic.
