The standard approach to prenatal training tends to be all about what you CAN’T do- but my approach is always about what you CAN (which is actually quite a bit!). Pregnant bodies are extremely capable bodies and the current research shows us that the range of what is safe is actually pretty vast. It’s not actually about changing exercise selection as much as it is about managing pressure and adjusting intensity/volume to the individual. When I was pregnant, my workouts didn’t look all that different from my regular workouts to the outside eye!

In 2026, we’re empowering pregnant folks- not promoting outdated ideas about being weak and fragile. You are, after all, prepping for the biggest athletic event of your life!

Women are real life superheroes and you’ll never convince me otherwise.

Let’s not get it twisted- postpartum was no walk in the park. In fact, it was the most challenging thing I’ve ever experienced. But I’ve never been so proud of this body and what it’s capable of. I’ve never been so grateful for strength- training and movement has remained a lifeline for me when I couldn’t remember who I was and when my body felt foreign.

“Back to business”- but more like moving “forward and embracing this new version of me”. ❤️

Two 37 year old young, healthy bodies- both gone, in an instant. Innocent children being ripped from their parents. Peaceful protesters inhaling toxic tear gas. Human beings fearing for their lives and basic right to safety. Bodies are political. Fitness is political. Health is political. There’s no “just sticking to fitness” when all of these topics are inextricably linked, only the privilege to bury your head in the sand and ignore your neighbors’ suffering.
