Our Story
At age 36, David Weingard was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It was a turning point in his life, and while David felt overwhelmed and frustrated, he was fortunate to meet Cecelia.
Cecelia, a Diabetes Educator Clinician (CDE) who worked at the Lighthouse Guild in NYC, transformed David’s life. Through personalized education, support, and compassion, Cecelia gave David hope that he could live an empowered life with diabetes.
Cecelia showed David that having diabetes was not a death sentence. He could manage his chronic condition as long as he had the right knowledge and understanding of the disease and made healthy choices. Because of Cecelia, David knew he was not alone.
David’s life-changing experience with Cecelia inspired him to establish a company that has helped hundreds of thousands of people living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Today, Cecelia Health’s Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and clinical coaches work with proprietary technology to deliver personalized education and support for those who are struggling to manage their disease.
