When digestion is sluggish or the gut microbiome is out of balance, estrogen and other hormones may not be processed and eliminated efficiently. This can lead to fatigue, bloating, mood swings, and even stubborn changes in skin, weight, and energy.

Supporting your gut is one of the most effective ways to influence hormone balance. Simple habits like eating fiber-rich foods, staying hydrated, nourishing beneficial gut bacteria, and addressing digestive issues can make a meaningful difference. Sleep and hormones are deeply connected, and the relationship goes both ways.

Hormonal imbalances can disrupt sleep, and poor sleep can disrupt hormones. Low progesterone makes it harder to fall and stay asleep. Elevated cortisol keeps your nervous system too activated at night.

Estrogen fluctuations can cause night sweats that wake you repeatedly. And when sleep suffers, insulin sensitivity, cortisol regulation, and appetite hormones all take a hit the next day.

If you have tried everything for your sleep and nothing is working, a hormonal evaluation is worth adding to the list.
