I get bi-weekly deliveries from my local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) of all organic, freshly picked produce. By joining, members basically buy a portion (or share) of a local farm’s harvest for the year. It is a wonderful way to support local agriculture and buy fresh and affordable fruit and vegetables which are in season. This way, you will always have plenty of healthy food around. It’s particularly nice to have right now, as we are avoiding going out as much. I recommend joining a CSA to all of my clients, as then they don’t have to do the grocery shopping themselves, and they step outside of what they would normally buy, incorporating more of a mix of whole foods into their diet. Many wind up getting creative experimenting with different recipes and loving it. Check out your local farmer’s market website to find out more.👩🏼‍🌾

Happy June! As The weather gets warmer, I urge you to get outside☀️ For the past few months, so much of the world’s population has been staying inside their homes. Although this may have reduced our chances of being exposed to the Coronavirus, it may have led to some less obvious effects on our immune system. Humans evolved on this planet with a 24 hour cycle of light and dark. Our bodies are reliant upon sunlight and produce vitamin D in the skin in response to it. This daily dose of vitamin D helps to strengthen our bones and teeth. It also has an effect on our immune cells. One of the most overlooked factors that can influence the outcome of COVID-19 is our vitamin D status. So, if you are staying inside still, please take a supplemental form. Otherwise, have some SPF-free fun in the sun for about 20 minutes per day. Besides, sunshine is the perfect antidote to stress. Stay strong, everyone. And remember to look on the bright side🌞

I start off every morning with an organic green juice. It feels great to jumpstart my day fueled with so many nutrients and chlorophyll. Green juice is one of the best-kept beauty secrets around. It reduces inflammation, cleanses your body and helps with digestion. Juicing can slow and even reverse the aging process! In addition, it balances your PH and floods your body with vitamins, minerals, enzymes and oxygen. By removing the plant fiber in the juicing process, you instantly lighten the load on your digestion. That means that within 15 minutes of drinking your green juice you get a blast of liquid sunshine that nourishes your cells and helps your immune system. I use half a green apple and some carrots to add some sweetness. The rest is all 🥬 🥒 and ginger. Adding a lot fruit will spike your blood sugar levels, so don’t overdo it. To reap full benefits, drink your juice on an empty stomach without food and directly after you juice it. I use a Breville juicer, but there are plenty of other good options.
