Before embarking on a journey of healthy weight loss, it's crucial to understand three concepts:
Weight Loss : It's a concept related to overall weight, where losing weight doesn't necessarily make you appear slimmer, and it doesn't guarantee a lower body fat percentage. For instance, one kilogram of fat is lighter than two kilograms of lean muscle, but fat has a higher body fat percentage, and it might make you look bulkier.
Fat Loss : This concept revolves around reducing body fat percentage. Losing fat doesn't necessarily make you lighter, and it doesn't guarantee a slimmer appearance. For example, a person weighing a hundred kilograms with a body fat percentage of 20% may appear slim and light, while someone weighing 180 kilograms with a body fat percentage of 10% might not appear slim but has a lower body fat percentage.
Slimming : It's a visual concept. Slimming is about looking slimmer, not necessarily being lighter or thinner. For instance, a female fitness model with a low body fat percentage, a slim appearance, and well-defined curves may weigh more than someone with a similar body shape who doesn't engage in fitness activities. On the other hand, there's a slim type known as "puff pastry people" with low body fat but low muscle content, appearing lightweight but lacking defined curves, potentially looking less healthy
