Our hand-made soaps are made with palm, coconut, olive, sunflower, and castor oils. Fresh ground herbs and oils extracted from plants are blended in to achieve the desired scent and benefits. Colorants are also used that either come from dried or powdered vegetables, ultra marines, and herbs. Occasional use of man-made colors are from cosmetic safe F,D,&C products. All soaps are made in small batches. Each are measured, weighed, and hand-blended. Tottenville soaps are able to be called soap because of its ingredients and purity. Take a look at what you use to cleanse your body, does the packaging say SOAP ? Odds are it only says the brand name. The reason----it is not soap. You are likely washing with a detergent, which can dry and damage your skin. We all know that detergent is for washing clothes, not bodies. Things that you will NEVER find in Tottenville Soaps:

6) Animal fats -used in commercial store brands (ground animal parts) check labels they are known as tallow's or tallowate. All of our bars are cut by hand, so no two bars are ever the same and no bar is a perfect block because we don't use machines. Our bars are sold and priced for 3.5 oz. though most of the time weigh more. Our body lotions will sooth you and are also blended by hand. Essential oils and vegetable oils are used as well as aloe and distilled water. Again, with the health of your skin our priority, you will find no harmful ingredients as found in store bought brands. Check what you use now ,if it contains these ingredients you may be doing damage to your skin:
1) Propylene Glycol -- AKA - anti freeze !
2) Parabins -- preservatives used in moisturizers that can cause cancer
3) Alcohol --- dries and removes natural moisture from your skin
