Sapientia Initiative invites you to pay-what-you-can Alexander Technique classes for Black Indigenous and Persons of Color (BIPOC) on 4/15 and 5/6 in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.
Led by Emily Rodriguez and Stephen McLean (The Collective):
In this session, open to all levels, we’ll create a safe and empowering space exclusively for people of color. Led by BIPOC instructors who understand the nuances of our lived experiences, our classes blend the principles of the Alexander Technique with cultural understanding and inclusivity. Through gentle guidance and exploration, we empower individuals to cultivate awareness, balance, and freedom of movement in a supportive community. Following the session, join us for a short meet and greet to build connections and strengthen our community bond. Together, we’ll explore the transformative potential of the Alexander Technique within the context of our diverse identities and experiences.
About The Collective:
The Collective is a group dedicated towards centering the thoughts and experiences of non-white students and practitioners in order to re-envision AT and find new ways of making it truly more inclusive and accessible. It is our hope that the BIPOC community within AT will continue to grow and flourish. We aim to support this effort through connecting within the community, sharing resources, and creating accessible content.
