Let’s Break It Down 👀

1. Sleep is where all of the magical things happens in your body for recovery. It releases hormones to help repair your body after you’ve broken it down from hard training. It helps you retain all of the things you’ve learned during training. It also helps become mentally sharp to perform for the next day. No massages, saunas, ice baths, oils/creams, etc. can replicate the benefits of sleep 💯

2. Too many fighters are under eating to frantically lose weight and don’t pay attention to their hydration. Failure to do this will deprive your body of the nutrients/fluids that you need to perform and also replenish after hard training sessions…ultimately feeling trashed & flat 😬

3. The belief that there’s no such thing as overtraining, but under recovering is misleading. It’s impossible to red line all of your training sessions and not expect your body to break down along with your nervous system becoming fried. An efficient training and recovery regimen that’s guided by the science will give you better gains instead of trying to be the hardest worker in the room every day 🧠

Let’s Break It Down 👀

1. Fight camps are for sharpening your game to put out the best version of yourself for your competitions. If you’re spending more time focused on dieting and burning as many calories as possible instead of becoming a better fighter…you’re treating your fight camps like a fat camp 👎🏾

2. For women fighters, it can come in the form of missing your monthly periods. For men fighters, it can come in the form of a low s*x drive. This is due to chronic overtraining and not eating enough calories to support your training/recovery. If you’re feeling terrible for all of your fight camps…then something needs to change 💯

3. When your relying on big water cuts that are miserable to endure and you’re on the verge of passing out to make weight or even miss weight…it’s time to move up. That size advantage you’re hoping for is just pure selfishness and lack of confidence in your skills to compete at a higher weight instead of showing how tough you are with weight cutting 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s Wild To See 😬

It’s wild seeing how many fighters look at their terrible weight cuts as a badge of honor. Their teammates will tell them how they almost died cutting weight, laugh it off as a “fighter experience”, and then continue with the guesswork for their weight cutting 👎🏾

Surviving a terrible weight cut doesn’t show how tough you are or a measure of your “warrior’s mindset”…it just shows how lucky you are that your body didn’t shut down from severe dehydration or overheating. A terrible weight cut increases your chances of feeling like trash and having a s**t performance for your fight, so there’s nothing positive about it 💯

Having super smooth weight cuts and feeling sharp for your fights is a badge of honor. It shows how disciplined you have been to the weight cutting process and how serious you are as a fighter 🔑

I’ve helped a lot of combat athletes trim down to an ideal walking weight, have smooth weight cuts, and feeling sharp for their fights by taking a science based approach towards everything. They’re feeling great and no longer stressed during their fight camps because they’re no longer relying on the guesswork 🤙🏾

You’re Here To Grow 💯

I’ve worked with a lot of combat athletes over the past years. While some were more talented than others, not everyone had the mental strength to bounce back from a loss. This is what separates the fighters that last from the ones have short careers because losing will make you question everything 💯

The fighters that last still hate losing because the feeling sucks, but they take ownership about what they need to improve on instead of playing the victim. They’ve bounced back from their low points as a stronger person not like a talented fighter that has this false sense of invincibility 🔑

The reason I’m writing this is because we challenge the athletes on the roster to grow whether they win or lose. Continuously growing is what makes them better fighters and people in the long run 👊🏾

Let’s Break It Down 👀

1. Trying to lose a bunch of weight in short period of time will definitely have you not eating enough calories to recover during your fight camp. Your sleep will be terrible, you will feel trashed during the training week, your reaction time will decrease, skills acquisition will suffer, and risk of injury increases due to poor recovery 💯

2. Fight camps are for dialing in your game plan for your fight instead of trying to make weight. Focusing on burning as many calories as possible instead of putting in the focused skills work is a terrible idea. Combine this with your poor recovery and your chances of feeling sharp for your fight will diminish 👎🏾

3. Once you’re losing weight each week at a rapid pace…your chances of retaining muscle will be slim to none. If you lose muscle, then your strength and power will definitely decrease. You’re tripping on your own feet if the goal is to be as strong and powerful as possible for your fight 😬

2025 Recap ❤️

2025 was all about connecting with people and living life that I’ve designed for myself. From the combat athletes that I work with, the friends I have back in the USA, and the people that I’ve met during my travels…those are things that truly brings me joy 💯

While I could talk about the superficial aspects of business for the year…I’ve realized that business is the vehicle for the life that I want to live instead of the destination. Having a business that truly helps the lives of combat athletes, while also allowing me the freedom to have experiences that most people would dream of is something that I will never take for granted 👊🏾

Life is short…do things that enriches your life and brings you joy while you’re still in this world ❤️

Vietnam Is Amazing ❤️

I love the food, the beautiful views, the friendly people, and rawness of a developing country that’s figuring things out along the way. The northern and central parts of Vietnam have their own vibes and food…I love experiencing it all 💯

Vietnam is a beautiful country with lots to see and I can’t wait to explore the southern part of the country soon. I’m looking forward to trying their style of vietnamese food and getting to know the locals there as well 👊🏾
