MIND - Scott Fraser and Tasha Taylor, UWS Feldenkrais Practitioners Information on classes, workshops and private sessions offered by MIND, and interesting news about movement and learning. School of Arts.

Scott Fraser, a Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1996, is known for making the method relevant and meaningful to a wide variety of people, ranging from performing artists and white collar professionals to senior citizens. In his private practice Scott primarily teaches people with chronic back, shoulder and neck pain, and repetitive strain injury. From editors, therapists and compute

r programmers to concert pianists, dancers and weekend athletes with sore knees and joints, Scott’s comprehensive understanding of the Method and insight into how people learn allows him to facilitate and cultivate long-lasting relief strategies for his clients. His extensive performing background in classical music uniquely qualifies him to understand and effectively respond to the needs of his many drama, voice, music and dance clients. He has worked extensively with dancers from the NYC Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Stephen Petronio Company, musicians and performers from the group Steely Dan and string quartet Ethel to Broadway musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, In The Heights and The Producers. Scott has also developed popular programs and workshops for performing artists and computer users, offering creative solutions to repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain and injury prevention/rehabilitation, presenting at such venues as Mercer Consulting, Saatchi & Saatchi, The Brick Church School, SAJ and the N.Y.U. Active in the New York region of the Feldenkrais Guild as an officer, Scott has also been a mentor practitioner in two NYC area professional trainings, and continues to be a leading mentor and teacher to newly graduated practitioners. Tasha Taylor, a Feldenkrais® practitioner since 2006, maintains a vibrant practice on the upper west side, and teaches class at Movement Research, primarily working with performing artists interested in improving their self-use. As a dancer, Tasha performed extensively with many innovative choreographers including Pat Cremins, Steve Gross, Dean Moss, Lynn Shapiro and RoseAnne Spradlin. She received a "Bessie" Award for her performance in Spradlin's Underworld. Tasha delights in improvisation and poetry and is curious about the relationship between movement, feeling and learning.
