Have your clients ever struggled with questions like,"Should I freeze my eggs?". The Vitality of Ambivalence offers 1 CE credit for FREE* March 13, 2025 12-1pm EST and will provide clinical strategies to support reproductive and family planning decision-making.
Uncertainty about the future has always abounded, but family-planning has never been more complex than in the present moment. The sheer amount of information available and breadth of factors that inform this decision can be overwhelming. Ambivalence is a natural response to the complexities and uncertainties of our lives- and can be a rich source of insight and connection. In navigating our inner conflicts with patience, curiosity, and compassion, we access the potential for more meaningful and satisfying choices.
A discussion on supporting clients facing questions along themes of:
Should I freeze my eggs or use reproductive technologies?
Will I regret having children or being childfree?
Do I want to have a biological child?
Am I open to solo parenting?
Should I adopt?
This session is designed for clinicians working with clients who are navigating the complexities of reproductive ambivalence and will draw upon relevant research, the literary genre of parenthood ambivalence, ambivalence in psychoanalytic and philosophical contexts, and therapeutic approaches from Internal Family Systems to help support those navigating ambivalence. I’ll also be providing details about an upcoming workgroup designed to support clients navigating reproductive ambivalence in a community of affirming others.
