When my daughter was born it took a few moments before she cried. When she did cry, it was so loud and so forceful that I worried something might be wrong (her birth was challenging and this was not typical newborn crying.) But no, nothing was wrong. She was telling us in her way. And that has been her way ever since — a force, a fire, a deep feeler, a loud voice. May it never change. We love her madly. Happy 2nd birthday, Simone!
