Today, we honor all the ways motherhood shows up—and the many emotions this day can bring.

To the mothers raising children with love and strength.
To those who long to be mothers.
To those grieving the loss of a child.
To those estranged from their mothers, or from their children.
To those who lost their mothers.
To those who mother in other ways—as aunties, mentors, caregivers, chosen family.

Your experience matters. Your love counts.
We see you. We honor you.

Happy Mother’s Day—in all its complexity.

May is Mental Health Month. It's a good time to remember that mental health isn’t always a glow-up.
It’s quiet resilience. Invisible effort.
It’s not always pretty — but it’s real.

Happy Earth Day!

Did you know?

🍃 Spending just 20 minutes in nature can significantly lower stress hormones.
🌞 Regular time outside is linked to reduced anxiety and depression.
🌳 Green spaces improve mood, attention, and overall mental well-being.

This Earth Day, take care of yourself by taking care of Earth. 🌎💚

Here are a few mindful ways to honor both:

🌱 Take a walk in a local park—no phone, just presence
🧹 Join a neighborhood cleanup or plant a tree
🌻 Start a small garden or tend to a houseplant
🚲 Choose to bike or walk instead of drive
📵 Unplug from screens—reconnect with the natural world

Your nervous system loves nature and Earth thrives when we show up with intention.

Let’s protect the planet like our peace depends on it—because it does. ✨

Feeling disconnected? 💭 You’re not alone—and you don’t have to stay stuck.

💡 Here are 5 small ways to reconnect:

1. Text or Call Someone You Trust
Even a short “thinking of you” message can reestablish a sense of connection and remind you that you're not alone.

2. Leave the House Daily
Whether it’s a walk, a trip to a café, or browsing a bookstore, being around others—even without direct interaction—can ease feelings of isolation.

3. Do Something Kind for Someone Else
Kindness is a two-way street. Helping others (even small gestures) builds purpose and connection.

4. Create a Daily Ritual
Something as simple as morning tea, a short journal entry, or a walk at sunset can offer grounding and comfort, helping to regulate emotions.

5. Join an Online Group or Community
From book clubs to hobby forums, digital spaces can provide meaningful interaction with like-minded people when in-person connection feels hard.

Some mental health myths are so common, they almost feel like facts. But today, let’s call them what they are—April Fools! 🎭"

Here are 5 mental health myths we’re not falling for anymore:

❌ “Therapy is only for people with serious mental illnesses.”
✅ Fact: 75% of people who seek therapy do so for everyday stress, relationship struggles, or personal growth.

❌ “You should be able to handle your problems alone.”
✅ Fact: Mental health challenges are not a matter of willpower. Just like you wouldn’t “tough out” a broken leg, support is key for mental wellness.

❌ “Medication is a last resort.”
✅ Fact: For many, medication can be a crucial tool in treatment, alongside therapy and lifestyle changes.

❌ “Talking about mental health makes things worse.”
✅ Fact: Open conversations reduce stigma and encourage people to seek help sooner.

❌ “Children can’t experience mental health struggles.”
✅ Fact: 50% of mental health conditions begin by age 14, but early support can make a huge difference.

Mental health isn’t a joke—but fighting stigma can start with breaking the myths. Let’s keep the conversation going. 💙

Two Weeks, 10 Years Back: The Power of an Internet Detox

Struggling with focus and well-being? Research from the University of Texas at Austin suggests that simply having your smartphone nearby can reduce cognitive capacity, even if you're not using it. Participants with phones in another room significantly outperformed those with phones on their desks. 📚🧠

Moreover, taking a two-week break from mobile internet led to notable improvements in mental health and attention spans, comparable to reversing a decade of age-related cognitive decline. 🌟📵

Consider setting your phone aside during tasks or scheduling regular digital detoxes. Your mind will thank you! 💡

Joy and pain can coexist. You don’t have to wait for the world to be "better" before you allow yourself moments of lightness.

💛 Laugh, even after you've cried.
🌸 Notice something beautiful, even on a hard day.
💬 Share kindness, even when you're struggling.

Joy isn’t about ignoring what’s difficult—it’s about remembering that you deserve goodness, too.

The Power of Small Joys

When the world feels overwhelming, joy might seem out of reach. But it’s not a luxury—it’s a necessity. 🌿✨

Small moments—sunlight on your face, the taste of your favorite tea, a song that makes you sway—can anchor you in the present and offer relief from anxiety. You don’t have to earn these moments. You don’t have to justify them. Just let yourself feel them.

What’s one small thing bringing you joy today? 💛
