“Your Pregnant body requires more fluid, sodium, potassium, and magnesium, zinc, etc to carry out many of the bodily functions it will normally require if you weren’t pregnant”

Minerals (electrolytes) are essential. Your body does not make these minerals, which means you absolutely need to consume them through food and drinks.

Herbs are excellent in helping you boost your mineral intake. It also counts for hydration. A big win for most women who can’t stand the taste of water during pregnancy.

I love recommending coconut water, Nabeez and electrolytes filled liquids like soups, stocks and broth + herbal infusions for pregnancy and postpartum as a tool for nutrition, deep hydration and healing particularly in this cold months when drinking water and hydration is not a big priority for most women.

Protein is one of the important nutrient that we often don't think about enough and don't give it a high priority in our daily meals. This videos gives you more information https://youtu.be/3W3JbBToeLA
During pregnancy, protein needs go up considerably from about 45g to 60-70g in the first half of pregnancy, and 80-100g in the second half of pregnancy. Many women are not consuming enough protein either the variety, quality or quantity of it.

It is important to know that, the quality, how much you eat, and what type of protein you consume all add up and play a vital role in supporting you and your unborn baby, because increase in blood volume during pregnancy depends on optimal protein intake.

Try to aim for about 20-30g of protein at every meal of the day, especially at breakfast, which set the tone for your energy levels and blood sugar levels for the day. 20g of protein is roughly a bagel and 2 eggs.

I went into detail on this topic in my youtube video. The link is in my bio. You may also copy and past this link to watch the full video 👉🏽👉🏽 https://youtu.be/3W3JbBToeLA

✨What is your favorite protein source? Mine is eggs and chicken.
