đź’¬ Talking about s*x is often hard, but it is essential.

Today I am featuring a guest post by who shares why conversations about s*x can feel so difficult and how couples can bridge the gap between emotional closeness and s*xual satisfaction.

Many of us were never taught how to talk about these topics, yet open and compassionate dialogue can transform intimacy in relationships.

Still feeling so energized after the first Social Connection Collective meetup ✨

It was incredible to see so many practitioners, researchers, and advocates come together, including participation from the World Health Organization 🌍💚

What started as a simple way to connect during the WHO Commission on Social Connection launch has now grown into something much bigger.

The dialogue was inspiring, the energy was contagious, and it reminded me why this work matters so much. I was grateful to co-lead this first gathering with Christian Altenius, and I am excited for what’s ahead.

One of the questions I hear often from high performers is: Could this be ADHD? Even with impressive careers and accomplishments, many describe feeling like they are working twice as hard just to keep up.

I recently spoke with Scott Shapiro, MD, DFAPA, Adult ADHD Psychiatrist, a nationally recognized expert in adult ADHD. Dr. Shapiro and I have a strong working relationship, and I admire the way he helps adults not only understand their symptoms but also find practical strategies for success.

In this Q&A, he shares valuable insights about:
• Why ADHD is often missed in adults
• Signs that may point to an evaluation
• How treatment and coaching can support real change
• The role AI may play in supporting focus and organization

What actually happens in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy?

I had a thoughtful conversation with Dr. Daniel Zimmerman, Harvard-trained psychiatrist and founder of , about what makes this form of therapy so unique and why it’s gaining momentum.

We talked about:

🌀 What a ketamine journey feels like
🧠 Why integration and the therapeutic relationship matter
📊 What the research says about its impact on depression, trauma, and chronic stress

Dr. Zimmerman and I share a commitment to trauma-informed, depth-oriented healing.

Still feeling the impact of this night.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Wild and Free: Wellbeing Through Art. This gathering came from a shared belief .rizk and I hold that healing doesn’t only happen in clinical settings. It also happens in community, through connection, creativity, and meaningful shared experiences. Your presence helped bring that vision to life.

Grateful to for sharing his stunning space and powerful work at gallery.

Netflix’s Adolescence is sparking conversations about the dangers of social media, but as a therapist (and a mom), I saw something even deeper: the warning signs of emotional distress that were missed.

At a time when our world is becoming more digital by the day, it’s impossible to fully control what our kids see online. Social media, peer culture, and the 24/7 stream of content aren’t going away. What is within our control? Noticing changes in our kids’ emotions, creating space for real conversations, and helping them process what they’re exposed to in a healthy way.

The truth? We can’t fully control what our kids are exposed to, but we can learn to recognize when they’re struggling and create space for real conversations.

I’m happy to share that I am now an EMDR Certified Therapist™, officially recognized by the EMDR International Association!

Over the past few years, I’ve witnessed firsthand how Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can be life-changing. This powerful, evidence-based approach helps clients process and heal from past experiences that continue to impact their present—whether it’s trauma, anxiety, self-doubt, or relationship patterns that feel impossible to break.

Integrating EMDR into my practice alongside Attachment Theory, ACT, and EFT has deepened my work in helping clients rewrite the stories that shape their relationships—both at home and at work.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns that don’t serve you, know that healing is possible. I’m honored to continue this work and grateful to my clients for their trust in this process.
