Being pregnant or having a new baby can feel like a lot. Your body is healing. Your mind is busy. You deserve care too. 💛 Here are 5 easy ways to take care of your mental health during this time.

😴 Get Rest & Fuel Your Body
Sleep when you can. Eat food that fills you up and gives you energy. Drink water. Take a slow walk or stretch—it helps your mood.

✋🏾 Protect Your Peace
It’s okay to say no. Skip the hard talks and news that stress you out. You deserve quiet, calm, and space to breathe.

💬 Stay Connected
Don’t hold it in. Talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling. You’re not alone—others are going through it too.

🌿 Take a Moment for You
A few minutes to breathe, write, or listen to music can help. Do something small each day that feels good to your soul.

📣 Ask for Help When You Need It
Feeling sad, worried, or distant for too long? Talk to a therapist or doctor. Getting help is strong—not weak.

Being a mom is a big change—physically, emotionally, and mentally. We’re here for you. Save this for later or share with a mom who needs it.

You’ve just brought life into the world. Now your body and mind begin the journey of recovery—and those first 24 hours are full of new sensations, emotions, and needs.

Here’s what to expect in those first hours after birth (whether you delivered vaginally or by C-section):

🩸 Bleeding and cramping – Your uterus is contracting to return to its normal size. Bleeding will be heavy at first, like a very intense period, and should gradually slow over time.

💧 Swelling or soreness – Especially around the perineum or incision site. Ice packs, gentle movement, and rest can help ease discomfort.

👶🏽 Skin-to-skin time – Your baby will likely be placed on your chest for bonding. It helps regulate their breathing, temperature, and heartbeat—and supports breastfeeding if you choose to nurse.

🌙 Extreme fatigue and adrenaline crashes – You may feel wired, exhausted, emotional—or all of the above. Let your body rest. Let others help.

🤱🏽 Feeding cues and learning your rhythm – Your baby may be sleepy at first, but they’ll likely start rooting or showing hunger signs. Those first feedings are more about connection than perfection.

💬 You can ask questions. You can say you’re unsure. You can change your mind.
Your care team should check in with you often, but you can also speak up if anything doesn’t feel right.

✨ It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. You just did something incredible. Go gently. You deserve care, patience, and support.

Too many people are taught to downplay their pain. But your body knows when something’s wrong.
Your pain is not an exaggeration. It’s not a “normal part of pregnancy” if it’s stopping you from functioning.
If it hurts—speak up. Again and again, if you have to.

If something doesn’t feel right, say something.
You are the expert on your own body—and your voice belongs in every room where decisions are made about your care.

Sometimes, speaking up can feel intimidating, especially in a medical setting. Here are a few simple phrases that can help:

“I don’t feel safe with that approach.”
“Can you explain that again more clearly?”
“I’d like to wait before we move forward.”
“Can we explore other options?”

Self-advocacy isn’t disrespect—it’s protection. It’s power. And you deserve to be heard.

Informed consent isn’t just a signature on a form—it’s a conversation.
It means that before any procedure, intervention, or medication, you’ve been clearly told what’s happening, why it’s needed, and what your options are—including the option to say no.

Your prenatal visits are more than checkups—they’re chances to get answers that matter.

✨ Pro tip: Write your questions down before your visit. You don’t have to memorize them—and you deserve the space to ask anything that’s on your heart.

Some symptoms during pregnancy feel normal—swelling, headaches, or feeling “off.” But sometimes, they’re signs of something more serious.
Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related condition that can be dangerous if left untreated, but early detection saves lives. Knowing the signs can help you speak up sooner and get the care you need.

"My body. My birth. My say."

You have the right to be heard. You have the right to ask questions. You have the right to say no.
In the delivery room, your voice matters. Consent isn’t a formality—it’s a foundation. Know your rights, protect your peace, and never be afraid to speak up.

Your voice matters. Your choices matter. You don’t have to earn respect—it’s yours by right.
