We invite you to our NYC Su***de Council general monthly meeting on June 1st 2020 at 11am online focusing on the "Psychological Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic: Job Losses, Intertwining Work and Home Environment/Life" as society adjusts and creates new norms and ways our lives are changing reactively and uncontrollably. The number of people who have lost jobs and are unable to secure income has created significant hardships and many people are beyond their breaking points. The job market is so limited and competitive that even best efforts to step outside of one’s comfort to secure any job is still a daunting one. Some people are still waiting on unemployment benefits months after applying and still haven’t received anything. The unemployment system is a trigger and stressor by itself for many in completing the application, being approved and filing weekly claims. The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) application is ambiguous and may not approve people based on approval questions. For those employed, the integration of technology and working from home has added significant stressors, challenges and pains that are starting to have serious psychological and physical repercussions, and many aren’t handling or coping with it well.
Virtual meetings on services like Zoom and Microsoft Teams have become invasive and intrusive in the privacy of our home environments and safe spaces are now exposed and uncomfortable. Schools are closed and children are home 24/7 eating more, needing time to be managed, using more utilities, and being home schooled, all of which are adding to an already tense and stressful situation that’s affecting many dynamics of homes. Often, we think working from home would be easier, better or less stressful, but as many are finding out now, it really isn’t and as more companies are moving towards home-based workforce we need to understand and brace ourselves for the mental health and psychological impacts and increasing challenges. We will be addressing these challenges with tips, tools and support resources and look forward to having you with us. Feel free to share and invite others who can benefit from it.
Our President Mr. Brett A. Scudder will be hosting the meeting.

We invite health and mental health services providers to come and share their services and programs with attendees. We welcome practitioners who focus and specialize on su***de to share their expertise for education and awareness. We invite those who are interested in learning more about the latest trends of Emotional Pain Informed Care, depression and Su***de Informed Care to join us for awareness. We will be focusing on the latest trends, behaviors, triggers, response, intervention, prevention, postvention and resources so providers, practitioners, parents, families, loved ones and advocates can know how to assist those struggling with addiction, depression, emotional pain, trauma and mental health disorders and mental illness so they can be connected to proper Systems of Care. Let’s be proactive in these critical times of human suffering, disasters, despair and pain.
There are many organizations and agencies who do not provide services or support for people struggling with emotional pain, depression, su***de ideations, attempt survivors and loss survivors, and we are expanding on mental and behavioral health services by sharing, networking and training about emotional wellness and su***de response, prevention and postvention. If you are a human/health services provider, crisis responder, grief counselor, caregiver, mental health professional, social worker, guidance counselor, clergy leader, educator or law enforcement that works with people who are abused, substance abusers, struggling, homeless, unemployed, suicidal or suffered loss from su***de or violence please join us. Together, with early intervention and effective support we can proactively save more lives from human suffering, crisis, distress and despair. Join us to collaborate, plan and strategize on 24/7 Emotional Crisis Response, awareness, training, prevention, intervention and postvention across NYC every 1st Monday of the month.
Thank you very much and have a great day one breath at a time and enjoy it. We apprecilove your patronage and look forward to serving you with more quality human, health, psychological and emotional programs, services and resources. One Love.
