Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Phyllis & Ivan Seidenberg Professor Peter HR Green, MD leads the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia Univ., one of the most renowned centers in the world.

Under the guidance of Peter HR Green, MD, Phyllis and Ivan Seidenberg Professor of Medicine, one of a few recognized experts on Celiac disease in the United States, the Center has become world-renowned for its services and programs and is one of the first medical school supported centers in the United States dedicated to the treatment and study of Celiac disease. The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University is the only center in the United States that provides comprehensive medical care, including nutrition, for adult and pediatric patients with Celiac disease. All of the Center’s research is directed toward Celiac disease—clinical epidemiology, and mechanisms of Celiac disease and patient and physician education. The Center is diagnosing and treating more than 6000 patients annually from around the world.

This scientific program will focus on epidemiology, clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of celiac disease. We will also focus on progress in development of non-dietary therapies for celiac disease. The program is designed for those interested in celiac disease including adult and pediatric physicians, dietitians and nutritionists, scientists, industry (pharmaceutical, diagnostic, biotechnology, and food & agriculture), venture capitalists and patients.

To financially support artists and nurture their creative process during these challenging times, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will grant over $150,000 for artists to create new works while observing social distancing guidelines. CELIAC DISEASE CENTER CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2019 TCS NEW YORK CITY MARATHON ON NOVEMBER 3!

WE NEED YOU!!!!!!

Looking ahead to 2019, we will again send a Team Celiac to the Marathon. We have more spaces than we had last year, and we are seeking runners who would like to join this exciting effort and help raise money for the Center's vital work of research, treatment, education, and advocacy.

The Center plans to provide support to cover registration fees as well as logo-designed tee-shirts for all our runners. In addition, we will create an individual page on our website where you can tell your story in print and video as well as keep track of your fund-raising efforts. (We work with NYRR to enable donations on your behalf through Crowd Rise.) Count on us to organize all Race Day details.

We are planning to create a Community of Team Members who will meet regularly to share experiences, provide support, and generate enthusiasm for the Team, the Center, and the Race.
