I recently wrote an article exploring the powerful and often overlooked origins of plastic surgery for 5TJT. In “The Face of Survival: Antisemitism, Identity, and the Origins of Plastic Surgery,” I discuss how early procedures, especially rhinoplasty, were shaped not by vanity but by the need for safety, acceptance, and survival in the face of antisemitism.

This history still matters today. No one should feel pressured to change who they are to feel safe or accepted.
