✨Transformation Tuesday ✨

This is a beautiful example of adult orthodontic treatment with realistic, achievable goals.
The case presented with severe crowding, particularly in the lower arch. To relieve the crowding and create a stable, functional result, we chose lower bicuspid extractions.

Because the patient had a tooth size discrepancy with teeth disproportionate to the size of his jaws we were able to minimize the number of extractions while still achieving excellent alignment and balance. Everything came together beautifully by the end of treatment.

We finished the case with a custom CAD/CAM-designed fixed retainer to ensure long-term stability and retention.

This case proves one thing:
Diagnosis changes everything.

At first glance, it looks like a simple open bite. But closing it by pulling the front teeth down would’ve created an unaesthetic gummy smile — not the right move here.

Instead, this case was treated from the outside in. By intruding the back teeth, the jaw naturally rotated closed, no anterior extrusion, no excess gingival display.

✨ Transformation Tuesday ✨

This case is a great example of a Brody bite, also known as a scissor bite, where the upper teeth sit too far toward the cheeks and the lower teeth sit too far toward the tongue, causing them to slide past each other when chewing. This type of bite often leads to a CR-CO shift, meaning the patient subconsciously shifts their jaw just to make contact when biting.

These cases are extremely challenging to correct and require a high level of diligence and commitment from the patient. In this case, the patient was incredibly compliant and followed the treatment plan exactly as prescribed. As a result, we were able to correct the bite, eliminate the shift, and achieve a beautiful, stable outcome.

An excellent transformation and a result we’re very proud of. Dr. Dayan is always raising the bar,because when you truly love what you do, it never feels like work. We hope the patient is just as pleased with the results as we are.
