sland. Our coalition recognizes that a variety of social, psychological, cultural, biological, and spiritual factors need to be considered when addressing behavioral health issues and is dedicated to centering the demographic groups that are most impacted. We put community measures in place to ensure that children and adolescents have social support, personal resilience, and substance-free coping options from youth through young adulthood. This includes initiatives such as collaborating with local establishments to host sober & inclusive community events, educating parents about how to speak with their kids about substance use, and providing training to prevent and intervene in crises from opioid overdose to suicidal ideation. TYSA holds annual legislative briefings to advocate to our elected officials, using local data to show where gaps remain. We also make sure that people are aware of state-licensed programs to reach out to for help if they do have a behavioral health concern, and maintain relationships with these organizations.
