isn’t afraid to ask the 💩 questions that so many patients ponder, and head to the Internet to answer…

The consensus from the docs interviewed, including yours truly:

💡 All 👀 on the 💩 before you flush!

💡 Everyone’s ‘regular’ is different, & based on so many things, when it comes to 💩 habits. But when in doubt, bring it up to your doc. Don’t worry or suffer in silence!

💡 It’s a change in the habits that may sound an 🚨, generally, so talk about it with your doc!

💡 🩸 in the 💩 is never normal. It doesn’t always signal or something dangerous, but it always warrants a chat with your clinician. Don’t be afraid to bring it up!

“The leading theory is that there is no single leading theory.”

Sadly, we’re seeing this data play out in our offices more and more with our younger patients.

As the research grows, advice you can follow today that can decrease your risk for these gut cancers include:

✅ Get your screening tests on time! ⏰
✅ Don’t ignore symptoms! Listen to your gut.
✅ Stay active. Move your body!
✅ Quit smoking (yes, it’s hard, & you can do it!)
✅ Limit alcohol consumption.
✅ More leafy greens and fruits. Less 🥩.
✅ Know your family medical history, especially that of your parents and siblings
✅ Did I mention getting your screenings on time? 😉

Screen for **alcancer at age 45 if you’re average risk, and even earlier if you’re higher risk. Talk to your doc. Don’t let fear or time get the best of you! 🫶🏿

Patient: ‘I can’t believe you have a medical team of all Black women. I couldn’t believe it when they brought me into the room. That is so dope.’

From the medial assistant to the tech to the anesthesiologist to yours truly who was about to do her colonoscopy….

In a profession where make up less than 3% of physicians, she’s absolutely right. 🤎

To my : When was the last time your Black female patient lifted you up in a way you needed?

Fam - THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 2nd at 8PM ET

Join me in a LIVE webinar honoring — an incredible musician who played w the likes of , , , and more — who was diagnosed with colore**al cancer at 38, and passed at the age of 40. He leaves behind a legacy of art + advocacy. His message saved lives, especially knowing colore**al cancer is happening more in young folks, and outcomes are worst for Black folks. 🙏🏾

While battling cancer, he let the world know what it means to and fight for your community so no one else would suffer how he did. He was brave.

I’ll be joined by , band leader for , , colore**al cancer survivor and 1st Black Rockette, , wife and caregiver to James, and Dr. Pascale White (), ABGH physician expert.

We look forward to seeing you, and being your questions!!
