Shannon Bradley, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist/ Psychotherapist Creative Arts Therapist/ Psychotherapist No art experience is necessary, just the courage to explore.

It is my desire to support clients in finding greater awareness and self-acceptance, as well as more meaningful, authentic connections in the world. My belief is that each of us has the capacity to be creative and thus to create a life that is more fully in alignment with our true self. My experience includes work with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, addictions, eating disorders, mental and medical illness.

People all over the world have always known art is healing of individuals and communities, for expressing outrage, joy, and resistance. This is what we need. Thanks Yes Magazine!

Wow, there’s a new “Art therapist Barbie”, apparently she’s the first mental health professional Barbie ever produced! Thanks for the customization 🥰 Art therapists work with all ages. They work with veterans, folks struggling with addiction, folks struggling with eating disorders, grief, trauma recovery and medical and mental health concerns.

Kudos & for introducing art therapist as part of the series.

🚨There’s a shortage of Medicaid psychotherapy providers in NY — adding 2,000+ Licensed Creative Arts Therapists to the Medicaid Provider List will help! Creative arts therapies are powerful, somatic, trauma-informed psychotherapies!

This is a simple solution to help close the mental workforce gap & improve access to mental healthcare - by adding already fully licensed psychotherapists, at NO additional cost 🙌🏼🙌🏼 And it can be accomplished via the NYS Budget, so the time is now!

🚨Action step ➡️ Send this post directly to your state legislators, & a local media outlet! Also - tag them all in the comments of this post!!

👏🏼 big thanks to our legislative champions - & Assemblymember for helping us with this push!

Seeing beauty in the small stuff is a practice that’s accessible to us all, it just requires slowing down enough to noticethe details. The Japanese art of kintsugi is a perfect reminder. Each time I use this bowl now it will feel even more special, as I cared enough to repair it.

If you believe in the power of art therapy please consider a one time or monthly donation to the LCAT advocacy coalition. We’re fighting hard to have the creative arts therapies covered by all insurances so more people have access. This money will go towards paying for lobbyists to reach the politicians that need to hear our voices. Thank you, and pass it on!

Donate online now to LCAT Coalition. Donations are fast, safe and secure.
