Dr. Sherrell J. Aston is a New York City board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in advanced cosmetic surgery for the face, breast, body, and skin.

Dr. Sherrell Aston is a Manhattan board-certified cosmetic surgeon offering advanced procedures for the face, breast and body. Considered an international expert in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Aston leads a world-renowned aesthetic surgery symposium in New York City annually, where more than 900 surgeons from 64 countries attend to listen to him lecture. Dr. Aston specializes in facelifts, eyelid surgery, brow lift and neck lifts. He has pioneered unique techniques to minimize scarring and produce natural results. He performs breast augmentation and breast lift surgery, tummy tuck, body contouring, and liposuction. He offers BOTOX and the latest injectables. After receiving his M.D. from the University of Virginia, Dr. Aston completed post-doctoral training including a surgical internship and residency, then a fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital. He continued as a Plastic Surgery and Chief Resident at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, NYU Medical Center.

Back from the fabulous NYC in Paris Plastic Surgery Symposium () last night after an unexpected snowstorm delayed flights. Kudos to NYC Professor of Plastic Surgery Dr. Ernest Chiu () and Dr. Jacques Saboye who is the Past President of SOFCPRE and the General Secretary of the French Society of Plastic Surgery for their organizational skills covering all of the subspecialty areas of Plastic Surgery. NYU Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery speakers included Dr. Jamie Levine, Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langer, Dr. Duc Bui and of course Dr. Ernest Chiu. Former NYU trainees included Professor of Plastic Surgery at MSK Dr. Peter Cordeiro, Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi and Dr. Douglas Steinbrech (). Mount Sinai, Cornell and Presbyterian were also well represented. And the faculty of speakers representing the French Society of Plastic Surgery were all superb!

I was asked to share my experience with “Which Anatomy-Based Facelift Technique for Which Patient”. I was introduced by Parisian Dr. Alexandre Marchac (.marchac) whose late father was an NYU craniofacial fellow.

Paris was in full beauty and holiday spirit as seen by swiping the photos.

Our family recently hosted the North Shore Land Alliance celebrating the Honoree Calvert Saunders Moore for her generous donation of land to the Alliance. We had 450 people for dinner. The weather was beautiful!

I am on my way to Brazil tonight where I am giving the International Keynote Lecture on Wednesday 11/12 for the 61st Brazilian Congress of Plastic Surgery and I will be in Paris for the 69th SoFCPRE National Congress on 11/19 where I have been invited to talk about my Facelift Techniques. More to follow on that one.

Dr. Sam Hamra is a colleague and great friend. His contributions to facial rejuvenation is widely known and respected by our Plastic Surgery colleagues around the world. I congratulate Dr. Hamra for documenting in his 2016 paper published in www.PRSjournal.com, "Building the Compostie Facelift: A Personal Odyssey", where he noted:

"However, I followed many deep plane patients for years and was a bit disappointed in many of the 10-year results, because the cheek fat repositioning had no superior vertical anchor, and therefore, with aging, whatever improvement initially gained appeared minimally maintained. To be honest, I felt an obligation to publish an article describing short-term improvement but long-term disappointment."

He did publish that paper and his observations and honesty speak to his integrity.

This fabulous work of art was given to me by our graduating MEETH Aesthetic Surgery Fellows when they completed their year June 30, 2025.

Dr. Jaime Bernstein () who has now estlablished a practice here in New York and Dr. Kylie Edinger () established her practice in Bozeman, Montana. They are both terrific surgeons! It is great to welcome them as colleagues in our great specialty of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
