La tiña se cuela en las peluquerías: ¿Qué es y cómo se trata?

La forma inflamatoria produce en áreas del cuero cabelludo granos blancos con pus que pueden ocasionar enrojecimiento, picor, escozor y dar lugar a calvas de pelo que de no tratarse pueden convertirse en permanentes y ocasionar alopecia.

¿CUÁL ES SU TRATAMIENTO?

El tratamiento de la tiña de la cabeza requiere aplicar no sólo cremas tópicas en las zonas afectadas sino también una terapia antifúngica oral que debe mantenerse entre dos y tres meses.

Además, si se confirma que se trata de tiña es necesario que todas las personas que conviven con el paciente se traten dado que pueden existir entre ellos portadores que no estén diagnosticados.

"En un inicio los síntomas pueden pasar desapercibidos y por ello la persona puede transmitir la enfermedad a quienes convivan con ella. Desde la primera semana de tratamiento la mejoría es evidente pero tras finalizarlo se debe realizar un segundo cultivo para confirmar que no quedan restos del hongo", señala el especialista.
