Excited to announce that we've opened the Spine Institute here at Lenox Hill, investing $6.3 million into our health system’s first dedicated destination center for back, neck and spine care!

The 11,500-square-foot facility on Manhattan’s Upper East Side (3rd ave between 70th and 71st street to be exact) integrates orthopedics, sports medicine, neurosurgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation within one location to offer comprehensive non-surgical and surgical treatment options across the full spectrum of spine conditions.

Additionally, we'll be able to offer patients same-day and next-day appointments, as well as continuous support from a dedicated concierge access and navigation team.

Congratulations to our recent DAISY Award Recipient Nurse Guerline Marcelin, RN!

Recognized for her extraordinary compassion and attention to detail, Guerline went above and beyond while caring for a patient following hip surgery—remaining vigilant during a prolonged stay, attending to their needs, and making sure even the smallest details, like food and hydration, weren’t overlooked. Her thoughtful, patient-centered approach turned a challenging nine-hour experience into one of comfort and reassurance.

Complications from bariatric surgery left Kimberly Higgins with severe fistulas. It took the combined expertise of three top specialists at Lenox Hill Hospital to restore her to health.

Marc Bessler, MD Bariatric Surgery, General Surgery told Heather, ‘I want you to make her an appointment immediately. I’m going to fix her,'" Higgins says. But he wasn’t going to do it alone. With such a complex case, he wanted the support of other doctors with specialized skills.

Menopause and perimenopause can bring unique symptoms that impact many aspects of a woman’s life, ranging from sleep and mood to metabolism, memory, and overall quality of life. To support women as they enter this stage of life, the Katz Institute for Women's Health has opened the Center for Menopause & Midlife Health.

Located in Stony Brook, the center offers a holistic, multidisciplinary approach addressing women’s physical, emotional, psychological, and nutritional needs during menopause, whether natural or surgically induced. Virtual appointments are also available.
