Are you surprised by these? 👆🏻

🧴 Many people believe SPF 100 is three times more protective than SPF 30. It isn’t. The actual difference in UV protection is very small — about 2%. For most people, SPF 30 already provides the protection their skin needs, which is why going higher isn’t usually necessary.

🥕 With retinol, strength isn’t the goal either. Skin tends to respond better to what it can tolerate and use consistently. A lower-strength retinol used regularly often gives better long-term results than a stronger one used occasionally.

♾️ Skin also doesn’t “get used” to products. Early results are just more noticeable. Once skin health improves, the product continues working on maintenance and long term function, even if changes feel less dramatic.

🧼 Active cleansers (salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc) are another common misunderstanding — they need to be left on the skin briefly to actually work.

💊And yes, biotin can make acne worse for some people.

We hear that 2016 is the new 2026, so let’s take a trip down memory lane.😍

In 2016, we both worked at the famous Institute, a place we truly loved. At that point, we had known each other for a little over three years, and as you can tell, we spent a lot of time together both at work and outside of work, just like we still do today. 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻

It’s rare in your 30s and 40s to meet someone you almost instantly feel a special connection with, a friendship that naturally turns into chosen family.

Back in 2016, we were enjoying New York life, doing work we loved, even traveling together. At that time, JE’DERM wasn’t even an idea. Who knew that ten years later we would be in business together?

And here we are, loving every minute of it. ❤️

BTW, iPhones have come a long way too. Why is the quality of these photos so bad? 🤔😂

In our clients’ words…

12/31/2025

On the last day of 2025, we simply want to say thank you. This year has been one of reflection and growth for our atelier. We welcomed a wonderful new team member, Svitlana, and we continued doing what we love every day- taking care of your skin. None of this would be possible without your trust and support, and we are truly grateful.
Here’s to 2026. 🥂 🥳
We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

🔍 Pores don’t shrink. We’re born with our pore size. BUT we can improve their appearance with exfoliation, extractions, and professional treatments like microneedling or lasers.

🧴 You’re usually not sensitive to retinol, it just wasn’t introduced slowly enough. Start once or twice a week, and if needed, apply it between layers of moisturizer. When used the right way, retinol is one of the best ingredients we have for texture, breakouts, aging, pigmentation, and overall skin health.

🧊 A few minutes of icing can calm inflammation, reduce redness, and help an active pimple heal faster. Keep it short, just a couple of minutes, and always follow with a spot treatment.

💧 Drinking water is important for your overall health, but it doesn’t directly hydrate your skin. Skin hydration mostly comes from topical products that support the skin barrier and help the skin hold onto moisture.

🪒 Dermaplaning does not make hair grow back thicker. The hair on the face is very fine vellus hair and it’s completely different from other types of hair on the body. Dermaplaning doesn’t change the hair dna, so it grows back the same way it was before.

Do you believe us? 🤔

Real results come from consistency, not a miracle product or treatment.
The things you do morning and night are what truly change your skin over time. Consistent habits build on each other, support your barrier, and create results that last far longer than any hype product ever could.

Pores also don’t open and close. Steam doesn’t “open” them and masks don’t “close” them because pores aren’t a muscle. We use steam to soften sebum, activate exfoliators, and encourage circulation. Masks cool, hydrate, and calm the skin, not tighten pores.

Drying out pimples makes them worse. Hydration helps them heal. When the skin barrier is supported with proper cleansing, hydration, and a cream-based spot treatment, breakouts resolve faster with less inflammation and a much lower chance of returning.

Hot yoga can trigger melasma. Heat stimulates melanin production, which is why anyone dealing with melasma, hyperpigmentation, or even high-inflammation breakouts should be mindful of heat exposure.

Brush your teeth before cleansing your face. Fluoride from toothpaste can irritate the skin around the mouth and chin, and cleansing afterward helps keep the area calm and clear.
