Today, we celebrate women everywhere — their strength, their resilience, their wisdom, and the many ways they shape the world around us. At Ona Health, we believe women’s health deserves more attention, more understanding, and more compassion. Every woman should feel heard, empowered, and supported in her health journey.

To all women, today and every day: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are with you.

Sunday resets aren’t about doing everything, they’re about doing what actually supports your nervous system and hormones before a new week starts 🌱

A few small habits can make a real difference:
• protecting your rest with Do Not Disturb mode
• prioritizing sleep (7+ hours isn’t a luxury, it’s regulation)
• gentle movement to support circulation and stress levels
• taking a moment to check in with how your body actually feels
• logging symptoms so patterns don’t get missed over time

💊A lot of people are rethinking menopausal hormone therapy and for good reason!

Modern, body-identical options are generally considered much safer than many women were led to believe, especially after years of fear sparked by older research 🔬

‼️One key detail: older studies used different formulations, including a type of progestin that isn’t the same as body-identical progesterone, and that likely shaped a lot of the safety concerns and headlines.

The conversation has shifted, and many women who avoided HRT out of fear may actually benefit from it. At the same time, it’s not a requirement and it’s not the right fit for everyone, the best choice is individualized and based on your symptoms and risk factors.

Hormones really said “new personality unlocked” every few days 💀

If you’ve ever overbooked your life, sent a bold DM, spiraled over a late period, and then immediately needed 5 business days to recover… same.

Ona’s your hormone bestie through all of it, track your cycle and symptoms and connect the dots 🧡📲

Perimenopause can make existing period issues feel more intense - for many women it’s like the volume gets turned up ⬆️

PCOS: symptoms can shift. Some women improve as androgens naturally decline with age, but the metabolic/insulin resistance side can worsen in perimenopause.

🫩Mood symptoms: PMS can ramp up and often blends into broader perimenopausal mood changes, especially early on when cycles are still fairly regular.

Endometriosis (and often adenomyosis): can flare in the early years because estrogen spikes higher, and estrogen tends to drive symptoms.

Bottom line: the answer is often “yes but it depends,” and the pattern can look different for everyone.

Monitoring your symptoms is a key 🔑

Your cycle can be a pretty solid training guide 💪🏾

🩸Menstruation: estrogen + progesterone are low and prostaglandins are higher, so you may feel more cramps/fatigue → stretch + walks + yoga + mobility support circulation and relief without draining you.

🌱 Follicular: estrogen rises, which often means better mood/energy + recovery and stronger insulin sensitivity → great window for strength, HIIT, swim, hike.

🔥 Ovulation: estrogen peaks, so many people feel their strongest and most “go go go” → perfect for tennis, dance, cycling, abs (just warm up well because ligaments can be a bit looser).

🌙 Luteal: progesterone rises, body temp goes up, hunger/PMS can hit, and you may feel less tolerant to intense workouts → keep moving, but choose pilates, yoga, walks, stretching for steady support without overload.

Supplements can really support you in perimenopause, but there’s no one “perfect” option. It’s about matching support to your symptoms 💊

A few that often help: magnesium glycinate (sleep + calming, gentle on digestion), taurine and glycine (nervous system support), and sometimes B vitamins for energy and mood.

If you get a “high histamine” pattern (headaches, rashes, fluid retention, insomnia), some women benefit from an antihistamine-style approach (including certain probiotics), and some find SAM-e helpful.

Big one: iron, especially with heavy periods. Low ferritin can look like brain fog and fatigue and can also cause palpitations or headaches. If you suspect it, ask for iron studies + ferritin 🩸💉

Perimenopause support isn’t “either lifestyle or hormones”, for many women it can be both! 🧘🏼‍♀️

A few simple changes can genuinely move the needle: cutting back (or quitting) alcohol, daily movement, morning light, and magnesium.

💊And if symptoms still feel like a lot, hormone therapy can be an added layer of support for some women, but it’s not a requirement.

Perimenopause is a transition, and the best approach is the one that fits your body and your symptoms.
