We had a successful workshop today, led by Edya Kalev Master MELT Instructor

She led a group of six to mobilize and hydrate their connective tissue and fascia using balls and rollers. She encouraged them to move joyfully and to feel into their bodies.

There was a special focus on the feet and calves. Having flexible and adaptable feet is essential for safe gait and balance. And, of course, alleviates pain too.

This workshop was offered as part of our practice's membership program.

Here are a few photos.

We hope you will join us for our next workshop, this Friday at 5, with Patrick Hogan. That post will be coming soon. Mark your calendars, 5 pm on Friday 27th June. Also included, for a small fee, in our membership program.

Is Your Joint Pain Being Affected by the Cold?

As temperatures drop, many people experience an increase in joint pain.
If you've been noticing any of the following signs, it could mean that
colder weather is impacting your joints:

• Increased Stiffness: Feeling more rigid when you move, especially in the morning.
• More Frequent Aches: Experiencing joint discomfort more often than usual.
• Reduced Range of Motion: Finding it harder to move your joints freely.
• Swelling: Noticing more inflammation or puffiness around your joints.
• Increased Sensitivity to Weather Changes: Feeling more pain when the weather changes rapidly.
• Joint Warmth or Tenderness: Sensing warmth or tenderness when touching your joints.

If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, you’re not alone. Cold weather can lead to stiff, achy joints and discomfort. But don’t worry—there are ways to manage this.

Book a low-cost joint pain assessment with us today, and let our expert team guide you through strategies to alleviate your pain and keep you moving comfortably, even as the temperatures drop.

Myth or Fact? 🧐

"Cold weather can increase joint pain."

Fact!

Many people feel more joint pain and stiffness when the temperature drops.
Cold weather causes muscles to contract and reduces blood circulation,
which can lead to increased stiffness in the joints. For those already suffering from arthritis or joint discomfort, colder temperatures can make symptoms feel worse.

But the good news is, you can take steps to manage joint pain during colder months. Staying warm with thermal layers, using moist heat therapy, and maintaining regular physical activity are great ways to keep your joints flexible and pain-free.

Do you feel more joint pain as temperatures drop? ❄️

You're not alone. Many people experience increased stiffness and
discomfort in colder weather. This happens because the cold causes
muscles to tighten, slows down blood circulation, and thickens the fluid in your joints, making movement more difficult and painful. Whether you suffer from arthritis or general joint pain, the colder months can be challenging.

But don’t let the cold control your comfort!

At Higher Physio, we offer low-cost joint pain assessments to help you understand why the pain occurs and what you can do about it. Our team of experts will provide you with personalized advice and treatment options to keep your joints flexible, mobile, and pain-free throughout the colder months.

Get ahead of the pain before winter sets in!

Contact us today for your free joint pain assessment and take the first step toward lasting relief.

Thanks Patrick Hogan for a fascinating workshop yesterday Higher Physio .

We learned that we have some internal control of our pain

We learned that we can create some distance between ourselves and pain. Whether it is physical or mental.

We played an exercise called "Dropping the rope."
We repeated "Old" until it was just a sound
And we said " I can't " and then proved ourselves wrong."

It was great
