The Vision: Maximizing human performance at the intersection of health, fitness, sport & wellness. The Event: SWS is a gathering where we will explore best practises and methodologies in training, recovery, nutrition, technology and mindfulness. Inspiring, enabling and connecting active individuals to maximize human performance in an collaborative, immersive & cutting edge atmosphere. The Goal: Through collaboration and connection we will create a vehicle to bring about a tangible and measurable shift in North America’s understanding of holistic health and wellness. Background:

Ian Peters, Sports Wellness Summit (SWS) co-founder, is passionate about guiding individuals to adopt a holistic approach to training, healing and nutrition. This passion has led him to co-create a summit where participants will have the opportunity to connect with and learn from health professionals, pros and each other in various arenas to gain an understanding of treating the whole body. This summit is ideal for conscious athletes, weekend warriors, coaches, and sports enthusiasts. Chad Weir is a strategic business development consultant, project manager, event director, creative ideator and omni- channel marketing specialist with a focus on change management and social impact. Chad founded Focus Events in 1995 to service the corporate, social change, entertainment, and athletic sectors. Then in 2003 he began Cognizance Consulting; a marketing, strategy, and business development agency. Chad also has a background in training and development, outdoor pursuits, early childhood development, emergency management, health and fitness, and digital media. He is now focused on developing his leadership and project management skills while facilitatIng a global shift in personal development, educatIon, and wellness.

*SAP India CEO Ranjan Das Dies After Gym Workout*

Ranjan Das, CEO and MD of SAP-Indian subcontinent died after a massive cardiac arrest in Mumbai recently.
One of the youngest CEOs, he was only 42.

*What killed Ranjan Das?*

He was very active in sports, was a fitness freak and a marathon runner.

After his workout, he collapsed with a massive heart attack and died. He is survived by his wife and two very young kids.

It was certainly a wake-up call for corporate India. However, it was even more disastrous for runners.

The question arises as to why an exceptionally active, athletic person succumbed to a heart attack at 42 years of age.

*What is the real reason?*

Everyone missed out a small line in the reports that *Ranjan used to manage with 4-5 hours of sleep.*

In an earlier interview of Ranjan on NDTV in the program ‘Boss' day out’, *Ranjan Das himself admitted that he sleeps less and would love to get more sleep.*
