Today is National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to highlight the impact of HIV on young people and to promote education, prevention, and testing. In the U.S., youth ages 13–24 account for nearly 1 in 5 new HIV diagnoses, and almost half of young people living with HIV don’t know their status. This is often due to barriers like stigma, lack of information, or limited access to care. HIV testing is a powerful tool. It’s fast, confidential, and often free, and knowing your status opens the door to prevention options like PrEP, treatment, and support.
