When I first received La Limpia healing ceremony high in the Andes (1997) in the humble healing room of Taita Yachak Don José Joaquín Diaz Pineda, I was surprised when he sang vigorously without stopping. His captivating voice moved like a mystical wind through the high mountains, rising and falling, carrying something ancient, older than words. Around me were the scents of herbs, the blowing of trago and Agua Florida, and the strong rhythmic beating of his hands. Yet it was the song that truly held me. It wrapped around my spirit like a warm blanket. And as I listened, I felt myself lifted into the presence of the Apus, into the skies with the wings of the eagle, into the remembering of who I was before forgetting, as my soul returned from a long, hard journey.

Then I noticed something else. The song's vibrations were also empowering him. It gave him strength and clarity, allowing him to serve many people without losing himself. That is when I understood: the song is not part of the ceremony. The song is the ceremony.

In the old ways, every person is born with a song—a vibration that carries their true name. When we are hurt, frightened, or lost, that song grows faint. We keep living, but we are no longer fully here. We move through the world like a flute with no breath inside.

The elders say: You need to remember your song.

The ícaro is not learned. It is received. It rises from the place where your spirit still knows the way home. When your song returns, the body softens, the heart opens, and the soul steps back into the body. From that moment, healing does not have to be forced—it flows. This is why no true healing is done without song. It is the bridge between worlds. It is the voice of your soul calling you back. And when you remember your song, you remember yourself.

Shamanic Healers Training 2026, in the Ecuadorian Amazon with the Siekopie tribe. Face painting is not a decoration. It is an invitation for spirits to protect and guide you throughout the Yaje- plant medicine ceremonies. Here Margot painted my Jaguar spirit, for power and vision in the long night.

On my 2026 shamanic healers training in the Siekopie area of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Flower and herbs bath is a necessary ceremony of purification before any plant medicine ceremony. Indigenous people know this secret. The water and essence connects you with the plants kingdom, water element and transform you to receive the Yaje teachings. How many of us do ceremonies without it? A shame. Next time please do it.
