If your baby is crying, pulling away, arching, or refusing to latch, it doesn’t always mean low milk supply.
Sometimes babies are so hungry that they get frustrated and can’t latch calmly.
A simple trick can help:
express or pump a small amount of milk first,
let them taste it, calm down,
then re-latch.
This often turns a stressful feeding into a smooth one 🤍
👇 Have you ever experienced this sudden change while breastfeeding?

Cracked ni***es can be painful, sometimes even bleeding, and a lot of moms think that means they have to stop breastfeeding. You don’t! There are simple, safe ways to keep nursing and heal at the same time 🤍
👇Did you go through this too?

Most parents don’t realize that how a girl sits on the toilet can lead to irritation, discomfort, and unnecessary bathroom issues.
This is a simple habit, but it makes a real difference.
If you have a daughter, this is worth watching all the way through.
👇
Did anyone ever teach you this growing up?

When I was a young army doctor in South Africa, I practiced medicine in the most extreme conditions imaginable.
There were no perfect conditions. No modern protocols. Sometimes, no real choice.
That experience shaped the doctor I am today, and reminds me just how far medicine has come. What would you have done if you were that boy’s mother?

Toilet training boys doesn’t have to be a mess.
This simple pediatrician-approved hack actually works.
Would you try it? YES or NO 👇

12/23/2025

Most people don’t realize that puffy winter coats make car seats unsafe because the straps can’t tighten properly.
The safer way:
Strap your baby in without the coat, tighten the harness,
then place the coat or blanket over them.
👇 Be honest, did you know this already?
Comment YES or NO.
Save this, winter isn’t over yet!

Here is a "chazara" of Hanukkah safety tips so we can keep this holiday a joyous one.

No matter how beautiful your child’s or grandchild’s “arts and crafts” menorah may be, do not use it. It is not suitable for lighting.

Place the menorah on a sturdy surface made of noninflammable metal such as marble, glass or metal. The location is secure so the menorah cannot be knocked down or over by a door opening, someone passing by or something can fall on it. Make sure pets cannot reach the menorah.
Place the Hanukkah candles or holders for oil only inside the menorah which should be made of nonflammable material only.
Never place the menorah near or under flammable material such as papers, curtains or books.
Do not walk around while holding a lit candle.
KEEP MATCHES, OIL AND LIT OBJECTS AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND OUT OF REACH.
Never leave a lit menorah unattended.
Supervise any child that lights a menorah. Place their menorah closer to the child so they should not reach over another menorah.

When frying, keep children away from the stove. Some people create a “3-foot” safety zone around the stove when the latkes are frying. Others use the back burners so children cannot reach the flames. Oil tends to splatter.
In the event of a large grease flame or grease fire, do not use water to put it out! Smother the flames with damp towels.

What to do if someone get burned, G-d forbid.

Immediately move them away from the flames and heat source.
If the clothes catch fire, roll them on the ground and smother out the flames with a blanket or towel.
Do not pull off the clothing that has stuck to the injured skin: Instead, cut the clothing around the injured area.
Pour tepid water on the injury for at least 5 minutes. Never use cold water or creams.
Call Hatzolah or 911 immediately.

An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure. Let’s make this Hanukkah a win-win for all with the highest standards of safety.

As always, daven.

I love the beauty that radiates from the dancing flames of the Hanukkah lights. We are at that point when the Menorah is filling up with candles. Here is a "chazara" of Hanukkah safety tips so we can keep this holiday a joyous one.

Food. This is about safety. I'm giving you permission to splurge once or twice on latkes and sufganiyot.

Social pressure teaches kids that fitting in matters more than thinking.
Likes, trends, and popularity start to replace curiosity and independent thought.
As parents, the goal isn’t to shield kids from the world, it’s to help them understand who they are before the world tells them who to be.
Listen to them.
Validate their feelings.
Have open conversations.
But don’t teach them to follow the crowd.
We’re raising individuals, not lemmings.

P**p 20 times a day? Or not at all for a week?
Both can be normal in newborns.
Dr. Lightman says if the stool is yellow and seedy, this range is usually normal, especially in breastfed babies. The number alone isn’t what matters. Blood, black stool, or a very uncomfortable baby? Call your pediatrician.
If this eased some of your newborn worry, pass it along to another parent who might need the reassurance 🤍

Is your child asking for seconds all the time?
As a pediatrician, I don’t tell parents to restrict or punish eating.
Small changes, like plate size, texture, and presentation, can make a child feel satisfied without eating more.
These simple strategies help kids feel full without turning food into a battle.
Does your child always ask for seconds, even after a full meal?
