Before sleep, place a small amount of oil or lotion on your hands. Warm it. Apply it slowly to your arms, feet, or neck.
No affirmations. No goals.
Just consistent, caring touch.
The nervous system learns safety through repetition — not intensity.
This is one of the simplest ways we begin restoring trust in the body.

This is why repeating affirmations or “thinking positively” often falls short. The nervous system doesn’t change through logic, it changes through safety.
When safety is present, new choices become possible. When safety is absent, the body defaults to survival.

Your body learned long before your mind understood.

That’s why insight alone doesn’t always calm a reaction. Your body isn’t malfunctioning, it’s remembering.
Healing begins when we stop asking, “Why can’t I get over this?” and start asking, “What did my body need back then?”

Being the cycle breaker can feel deeply lonely.
Not because you’re doing something wrong, but because healing changes the role you once played.
When you stop absorbing, fixing, or smoothing things over, the system feels the shift. And sometimes, the distance hurts more than the dysfunction ever did.

The practice New Decision Therapy™ was designed to heal those who have less than ideal relationships with themselves and others. When trauma happens to us, these memories embed themselves in our bodies on a cellular level. This is what leads to our particular types of behavior, personalities and affects our reactions and relationships. When we feel overwhelmed, unhappy, alone and disconnected, this is a matter of suppressed trauma and previous pain. NDT goes into the memory, back to where the pain or trauma initially happened, and removes that old memory and pain through taking a New Decision which only happens through forgiveness.
