With the sun above on a June day during a stroll in Amsterdam I stopped for a bite at Jansz. A straightforward crab toast done right brought the moment harmoniously together — this is where I should be now. Yum. Delectable! .amsterdam

Potpourri of local mushrooms at Marée

Potpourri of local mushrooms, third dish in the five course vegetarian menu at Marée, Park Hotel Sonnenhof, was my favorite. Having mushrooms foraged in the near surroundings with other greens while taking in the Liechtenstein mountains felt impressive and heartfelt. Perfect, after a very active day. Exquisite!

Vitello tonnato at Kincho

Veal with tuna sauce is a starter I tried for the first time in the late 80s when I was on vacation with my family as a teen. I immediately fell in love with this dish unlike the rest of my family that wrinkled their noses. So it’s a pleasure being able to relive these fond memories via having it again. No yuck on my yum, please. Exquisite!

Brescia-style grilled cockerel at Restaurant Al Grifone

Eating alfresco in Sirmione with the best company while traveling and trying new local cuisine is definitely a Mastercard slogan. So here we have a Brescia-style grilled cockerel with chicory and spring onion from Tropea. It is a straightforward and delicious treatment of our common fowl — chicken. Delectable!

Anchovies at Puntulina

When you travel and get to order some of your favorites one is all smiles. Here a mix of anchovies (salted & marinated) that I happily ingested with some fresh bread, olive oil and greens while facing the Adriatic Sea. Delectable!

Viennese onion roast at Artner

Stopping by Artner Restaurant for a late lunch while getting lost in the beauty of Vienna is the right way to experience this stunning city. Along with the friendly and helpful staff the food and drink delivered on a high level. Here you have the Viennese onion roast with mash potatoes, which I personally recommend. Exquisite!

Grilled blood sausage at Pod Aniolami

A visit to Pod Aniolami in the historic district is a must when you seek authentic top notch Polish cuisine. Personally, I love connection to blood sausage and here they grill it over wood fire in a large fire place in the open kitchen. This dish is a part of the delicacy for the Polish nobility menu and comes with grilled potatoes, grilled apples, braised red cabbage and greens. So I had to order it and it delivers everything I wished for in a dish. Exquisite!

Lunch at Restaurace Lokal

Having a very affordable lunch in Prague requires a visit to Restaurace Lokal where they serve everything local that is good and delicious. For this lunch I had the pickled salami, butcher’s sausage, Frankfurters and red cabbage salad with a side of bread. Full, happy and content my day continued with much laughter and joy. Delectable!
