Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you all to your incredible generosity, something beautiful is taking root on the ground!
This week, the children at the school enjoyed a joy-filled feast—a nourishing meal that brought laughter, smiles, and full bellies (see the photos!). Fueled with energy, our dedicated local team immediately got to work building cow sheds.
Looking ahead:
We’re moving into the next exciting phase: purchasing one milk cow (hopefully pregnant) and a young bull. This will help us provide fresh milk for the children and teach valuable skills to the community, paving a path toward self-sufficiency in a long run.
But there are urgent needs, too.
In a recent meeting with the nursery staff, we learned that the church hosting the children is no longer a long-term option—some members are uncomfortable with the orphanage being there. We’ve identified a nearby rental space next to a government school, which would give the children safe access to a playground. But this comes with an added $200/month fixed cost.
That brings the monthly minimum to $1,390:
• $700 for meals for all children and the staff
• $190 to support one dedicated teacher
• $300 for 4 staff my my members
• $200 for the new rental space
This does not yet include initial set up essentials like hot showers, bedding, or hygiene upgrades. Our goal is to meet every child’s basic needs to eat, sleep, and play safely with dignity.
Your support—whether through donations, shares, or words of encouragement—is already transforming lives. With your help, we can continue building something sustainable and filled with love.
With gratitude and hope,
Dr. Mika
