One of the worst offenders on social media is the unfounded hate on “Big Ag” - the idea that farmers exploit land and animals all for money.
As a dietitian who’s had the privilege of touring many farms and meeting with farmers, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Farmers have a lot of pride in what they do. They want to put food on the table and make sure there’s plenty of food in the world to feed everyone.
Their families eat the food they grow too, and they put so much research and care into the water and soil on the farm. They want to leave the land for the next generation even better than they found it.
There are a lot of negative things to harp on within our food industry (food access and affordability, to name a few 🙃) — but “Big Ag” is definitely not one of them.
