Dangerous counterfeit versions of botulinum toxin (AKA Botox) are being linked to an outbreak that has sickened 19 people in multiple states.
It has been determined that the toxin was obtained from unlicensed sources.

People reported experiencing botulism symptoms, including blurred or double vision, difficult swallowing, dry mouth, slurred speech, difficulty breathing.

The FDA is working with Botox manufacturer AbbVie to investigate and remove any suspected counterfeit Botox products. There is no information linking FDA-approved Botox manufactured by AbbVie with any of the current illnesses.

If you’re considering Botox, makes sure you are seeing a board certified provider. The product should be FDA approved and purchased from a reliable source.

If the price is too good to be true, it’s probably because it is! You get what you pay for. And you don’t want botulism.
