"Theraputty is used by Occupational Therapists with children who have difficulty with fine motor activities. These may include:

🔹️ Tying shoes
🔹️ Zips and buttons
🔹️ Writing legibly without fatigue
🔹️ Playing games with small pieces
🔹️ Using cutlery
🔹️ Opening containers

Theraputty can be used as a warm up activity before completing fine motor tasks to help the child's hands prepare for the activity. This increases sensory awareness of what their hand muscles🖐 and joints are doing. This should help to improve motor control and motor memory🧠 for learning improvements involved in fine motor tasks such as writing ✏✏" -

Making spirals out of theraputty is a great fine motor coordination and manipulation exercise! Props if you use black theraputty, as it is the most firm of them all! 🌀

Welcome to OT Millennial!
OT Millennial is a channel created by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. I work with children ranging from ages 3-16 years old in the school and private settings 🎉

Here you will find interactive DIY & follow along drawing, handwriting, and theraputty exercise videos to strengthen and develop the fine motor muscles in your hands and fingers!
